Public Servants Program

In appreciation for the work of those who spend their lives ensuring the safety of our community, Mendez & Mullins Family Funeral Home offers a special program to honor these local heroes.

Should a Public Servant of Deaf Smith County, Texas, be killed in the line of duty, Funeral Home arrangements (see benefits) will be provided at NO cost by Mendez & Mullins Family Funeral Home.

Program Benefits Include:

Basic Services of Funeral Director and Staff
Embalming
Cosmetology, Dressing and Casketing the remains
Use of Stateroom for Viewing and Visitation
Funeral Service conducted at a local area Church or at our Chapel
Transportation of the body from place of death to the Funeral Home (within a 50 mile radius)
Hearse
Pallbearer/Family Limousine
Utility Vehicle for transferring flowers and equipment
Memorial Package (Memorial Book, Acknowledgement Cards and Service Folders)
20-Gauge Steel, Protective Casket
Concrete Grave Liner

There will be other expenses that originate outside of the Funeral Home that the family will be responsible for, such as:

Open/Closing of the grave
Honorariums
Flowers
Musicians/Singers
Certified Copies of Death Certificates
Additional Transportation Expenses
Newspaper Notices/Obituaries
Autopsy/Donor Repair

WHO QUALIFIES AS A PUBLIC SERVANT UNDER THIS PROGRAM?

Any of the following servants who serve in the above-mentioned areas:

Law Enforcement Officers (Municipal, County, and State levels)
Fire Fighters (including volunteers)
Emergency Medical Service Professionals

* SPECIAL BENEFITS EXTENDED TO FAMILY MEMBERS AND RETIRED PUBLIC SERVANTS
Immediate family members of Public Servants (as defined above) who have an interest in pre-arranging their own funeral will be entitled to the following special benefits:
Retired Public Servants receive a 10% discount on professional services and merchandise.
Immediate family members receive a 5% discount on professional services and merchandise.
