Tommy J. Provence, 83, a lifelong resident of Hereford, Texas, passed away on Wednesday, September 16, 2026, in Amarillo, Texas.

A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, September 21, 2026, at the Mendez and Mullins Family Funeral Home Chapel, with Pastor Nate Stanford officiating. Arrangements and cremation services have been entrusted to Mendez and Mullins Family Funeral Home of Hereford.

Tommy was born on October 12, 1942, in Bogata, Texas, to Sam and Arrie (Barrow) Provence. He attended Hereford schools and later met the love of his life, Patricia Westmoreland. They married in February 1964 in Clovis, New Mexico, and shared 62 wonderful years together while building a beautiful family.

Tommy worked successfully as an automotive mechanic for most of his adult life and was known as a good-natured gentleman. Away from work, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, watching hummingbirds and other birds, tending his vegetable garden—especially his okra—and smoking his favorite cuts of beef. Above all, he treasured his family, particularly his grandchildren, and loved watching them play outside.

Tommy’s presence, smile, and kindhearted spirit will be deeply missed by all who loved him.

Tommy is survived by his wife of 62 years, Patricia “Pat” Provence of Hereford, Texas; his children, Blane Provence and Tannar Provence, both of Hereford; five grandchildren, Danielle San Miguel and her husband, Jesus, Michael Provence, Whitney Stanford and her husband, Nate, Shanah Provence and her husband, Jaden Davis, and Kaleé Provence and her husband, Theron Childers; and seven great-grandchildren, Quinnley Parsons, Sunny Parsons, Kasen Guzman, Barett Stanford, Eden Stanford, Jassiel San Miguel, and Delayni San Miguel.

Tommy was preceded in death by his parents, Sam and Arrie Provence; his son, Ronni Provence; his grandson, Grant Provence; and his brothers, Dobie, Bill, Bobby, and Sammy Provence.
