Yvonne "Tmagic" Mercado, 50, lifelong resident of Herford , Texas passed away on Wednesday, December 9, 2020 in Lubbock, Texas. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, December 16, 2020 at 2:00 PM at San Jose Catholic Church with Father Nestor Lara and Deacon Rick Mendez officiating, burial will follow in West Park Cemetery. Viewing will begin held Tuesday, December 15, 2020 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM with Rosary being recited at 6:00 PM in the funeral home chapel. Services have been entrusted to Mendez and Mullins Family Funeral Home of Hereford.

Yvonne was born on September 24, 1970 to Jose Guadalupe and Juanita (Mendez) Gonzales in Hereford. After graduating high school, South Edinburgh High class of 1989, she moved back to Hereford where she was a Tejano DJ. She had a deep love for her Tejano music, she was also crowned Reyna de Las Fiestas de Amarillo. She worked as the attendance clerk for Hereford High School for 12 years, earning paraprofessional of the 2018-2019 school year. While at the high school, Yvonne encouraged many students, pushed them to do their best and she was a "momma bear" to many of them. She never met a stranger and always took everyone under her wing.

Yvonne loved spending time with her family, having cookouts, cooking, and playing video games but above all these things she was a wonderful, loving, and caring women and always had a smile on her face no matter what. Yvonne was always quick to cheer any and everyone up. She will be greatly missed by many.

Those left to cherish her memories are her children, Francisco Mercado, Jr., Jazmine Mercado, and Daphne Gonzales,  and her fur baby Honey all of Hereford, and Klyzz Urbina of Amarillo, her parents Jose and Juanita Gonzales and her bonus parents Andy and Linda Mendez all of Hereford, three sisters, Gloria Preciado of Amarillo, Sandra Mendez and Shannon Carrillo and her husband Miguel all of Hereford, one brother, Jojo Gonzales and his wife Brandi of Houston, one granddaughter Amyiah Ramirez and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and friends that were like family.

Yvonne is preceded in death by her grandmother, Guadalupe Mendez, her grandfather, Ricardo Mendez, Sr., one sister Melissa Mendez, one Uncle Jose Angel Gonzales and one Aunt Maria Luisa Mendez.
