Yolanda "Joy" Garcia, 72, of Hereford, Texas, passed away on Friday, May 17, 2024, at the County View Living in Dimmitt TX, surrounded by her loving family. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Friday, May 24, 2024, at 10:00 A.M. in the Mendez and Mullins Family Funeral Home Chapel. Burial to follow at West Park Cemetery in Hereford TX. Prayers and Visitation will be on Thursday, May 23, 2024, from 5:00-8:00 P.M. at the funeral home, with a Prayer Service beginning at 6:00 P.M.

Yolanda Garcia was born on November 13, 1951, in Hughes, Arkansas, to Benjamin Reyes and Teresa (Reyes) Vasquez.

Yolanda or "Joy" as many would call her by that name resided in Hereford, TX. She loved spending quality time with family and friends, she also was a mentor, provider, and a shoulder to lean on. She also enjoyed listening to music while doing puzzles; there wasn't a puzzle challenging enough for her. Yolanda loved having coffee in the morning with her sisters and cherished her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Joy was loved by many and will be missed by the ones who cherished and adored her.

Those left to treasure her memory are her children, Luis Garcia and wife Isabel of Amarillo, Texas, Brenda Corrales and husband Oscar of Hereford, Texas, and Danny Garcia and wife Grafida of Hereford, Texas; her pride and joy, grandchildren, Briana Martinez, Ariana Garcia, Erika Garcia, Sabian Martinez, Hayley Garcia, Andrew Corrales, and Damien Garcia, Xavier Sauceda; great-grandchildren, Janessa Martinez, Xandra Martinez, Xeena Martinez, Julian Martinez, Jr., and Jamzey Martinez; loving sisters, Anita Estrada and her late husband Ignacio Estrada of Hereford, Texas, Silvia Leal of Hereford, Texas, Blanca Moreno and husband Miguel Moreno of Pearsall, Texas, Sylvia Watts and husband Albert of Olton, Texas, Rosario V. Guzman and husband Victor of San Antonio, Texas, and Mary Vasquez of Artesia, New Mexico; her loving brothers Manuel Rodriguez and his late wife Connie of Pearsall, Texas, and Moses Vasquez and wife Ida of Pearsall, Texas; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins who loved her dearly.

Yolanda is preceded in death by her parents, Benjamin Reyes and Teresa R. Vasquez, sister Estella R. Garcia, brother Joe Vasquez, niece Priscilla R. Martinez, and two grandchildren, Xavier Ramos, and Jasmine Garcia.

Yolanda's family would like to express their sincere appreciation and gratitude to the staff of Country View Living for the exceptional care that she received in the final days of her life.
