William "Bill" Craig, 93, of Hereford, Texas, passed away on Wednesday, June 22, 2022, in Dimmitt, Texas. A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be on Tuesday, July 5, 2022, at 10:30 A.M. at Mendez and Mullins Family Funeral Home with Dennis Latham officiating. Arrangements and cremation services have been entrusted to Mendez and Mullins Family Funeral Home of Hereford, Texas.

Bill was born on May 1, 1929, in Dimmitt, Texas, to William and Gladys (Matthews) Craig. He was a long-time resident of Hereford and worked for Deaf Smith County Electric, the Chevy Dealership, and Oglesby Equipment until he retired. Bill served his country from 1951 through 1955; he served on the USS Jenkins DD-447 during the Korean War. Bill also served his fellow veterans as the Deaf Smith County and Oldham County Veterans Service Officer, served his community as a volunteer fireman, and was the fire chief for two terms. He was a lifetime member of the VFW, a member of the Elks Club, American Legion, and Lions Club.

Bill always had a smile and a joke and was known to some as "Wild Bill." He was fun-loving, very generous, and always helping others; he was sweet and loved his family and grandchildren dearly. He enjoyed the mountains, Spicer Gripp Rodeo, fishing, and Ute Lake.

Those left to cherish his memories are his daughters, Valerie Artho and her husband Duane of Hereford, Texas, and Pam Smith and her husband Jeff of Amarillo, Texas; a sister Betty Lookingbill of Nazareth, Texas; grandchildren, Jessyi Rives and her husband Chayse of Athens, Texas, Rebecca Artho of Hereford, Texas, Gina Bryan and her husband Phillip of Mustang, Oklahoma, Kimmy Fiegel and her husband Nick of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Briana Cagle and her husband Jack of Amarillo, Texas, and Blake Smith of Amarillo, Texas; and four great-grandchildren, Cruz and Rydge Rives and Kaden and Blake Bryan.

He is preceded in death by his parents, William and Gladys Craig; a brother, Lloyd Sulivan; and a sister, Loree Walcott.
