Vonnie Elliott, 88, of Hereford, Texas, passed away on Saturday, October 1, 2022, in Canyon, Texas. Mass of Christian Burial will be on Wednesday, October 5, 2022, at 2:00 PM at St. Anthony's Catholic Church with Celebrant Grant Spinhirne officiating. Burial to follow at West Park Cemetery. Arrangements and services have been entrusted to Mendez and Mullins Family Funeral Home of Hereford, Texas. Viewing will be on Tuesday, October 4, 2022, from 4:00-7:30 PM, with rosary at 6:00 PM and visitation from 6:30-7:30 PM at the funeral home.

Vonnie was born on October 30, 1933, in Cedar Rapids, Nebraska, to Albert and Irene (Krings) Kunzman. Vonnie has been a resident of Hereford, Texas, since 1967. She was a bookkeeper for her husband's produce business, Koozer's Produce. On June 26, 1970, Vonnie married Mike Elliott. She enjoyed, for a short time, being a homemaker and taking much pride in raising her children and caring for her husband; she later became employed as a customer service representative for Hereford State Bank, retiring after 20 plus years at the age of 70. Vonnie enjoyed singing, she sang in her church choir, reading, playing cards, cooking, volunteering at the Hereford Senior Citizens and at St. Anthony's Church office, where she was a member, and was always ready to go and enjoy an adventure; but one of her greatest loves was being an avid Nebraska Corn-Husker's fan, never missing a game on television.

Those left to cherish her memories are her children Cathy Betzen and her husband Kelvin of Amarillo, Texas, Karen McPherson and her husband Gary of Hereford, Texas, Joni Koozer of Lubbock, Texas, and Dane Elliott and his wife Barbara of Naturita, Colorado; a sister-in-law Aggie Kunzman of Alliance, Nebraska; 8 grandchildren Phillip Betzen and his wife Lori, Kyla Hamilton and her husband Homer, Todd Betzen and his wife Cristin, Garrick McPherson and his wife Lesley, Wade McPherson and his wife Kelsey, Travis Connor, Lacey Elliott and Reagan Pierce; 15 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren.

Vonnie is preceded in death by her parents, her first husbands' Bill Koozer and Mike Elliott, a daughter Mary Pierce, and a brother Paul Kunzman.
