Violet "Polly" Turnbow, 98, of Hereford, Texas passed away Friday, September 13, 2019 in Herford. Graveside services will be Tuesday, September 17, 2019 at 3:00 PM with Brother Larry Tarver officiating at Bradshaw Cemetery in Bradshaw, Texas. Arrangements have been entrusted to Mendez and Mullins Family Funeral Home of Hereford, Texas. Family and friend visitation will be Monday from 4:00-6:00PM at the funeral home.

Polly was born May 15, 1921 in Temple, Oklahoma to Will and Lou Rumbert. Polly has been a resident of Hereford for 45 years. She married the love of her life Jimmy Turnbow in November of 1959. She was a homemaker, wife and mother, always taking care of her family. Polly was at one time a member of Temple Baptist Church of Hereford. Polly enjoyed yardwork, working in her flower beds and garden; she canned all kinds of vegetables like black-eyed peas and all kinds of jellies, she enjoyed working with her and Jimmy's baby calves, but above all these her all time favorite enjoyment and love was spending time with her children and grandchildren, whom thought she hung the moon. Polly was the most wonderful, caring and the best wife, mother and grandmother her family could have ever asked for. She was a caregiver even up to the final days of her life; she was more concerned about Jimmy and her family than herself.

Those left to cherish her memories are her husband Jimmy Turnbow of Hereford, Texas; three sons Bobby Wayne Turnbow of Odessa, Texas; Jimmy Keith Turnbow and Mike Turnbow both of Hereford, Texas; several grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.

Polly is preceded in death by her parents, a daughter Patsy Ann Roberts and a son-in-law Charles Roberts; three sisters, five brothers and several nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers the family suggest memorials be sent to St. Jude's Children's Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105
