Trinidad "Trini" Arias, 80 of Friona, Texas, passed away on Sunday, August 25, 2024, in Friona. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, August 29, 2024, at 10:00 AM at St. Teresa's Catholic Church in Friona, with Celebrant Gregory Bunyan officiating. Burial to follow at Friona Cemetery. Arrangements and services have been entrusted to Mendez and Mullins Family Funeral Home of Hereford, Texas. Viewing will be held on Wednesday, August 28, 2024, from 1:00-8:00PM with rosary at 6:00 PM at the funeral home.

Trinidad was born on June 4, 1944, in Chihuahua, Mexico, to Jesus and Eloisa (Burciaga) Tena. Trinidad, or what most people knew her by, "Trini" has been a longtime resident of Friona, Texas, for over 20 years. She took much pride in raising her six children and caring for her husband up until his death, she was employed at one time with the Friona Independent School District. Trini enjoyed watching her novellas, taking her beloved Chihuahua, "Chata" on daily car rides, watching her favorite football team, Kansas City Chiefs and Patrick Mahomes, playing at the casinos, and traveling. Her happiest moments were when she and her daughters and sisters would take a once-a-year girl trip to Ruidoso. Trini was very close to her siblings and loved them all very much, but her greatest love and joy were her children and grandchildren. Trini battled a lot of storms in her life, but her daughters say, "our mom was the storm, hurricane Trini." She was a spirited, energetic, bubbly, full of life mother, grandmother, sister and friend to many. Trini's dynamic personality and vivacious smile and presence will be missed by all those who loved her deeply.

Those left to remember and cherish her memories are her children, Liz Carlson and her husband Curtis of Iowa, Ortencia Mendez and her husband Joe of Hereford, Rey Arias and his wife Emma of Lubbock, Steve Arias and his wife Pati of Hereford, and Jimmy Arias of Muleshoe; 13 grandchildren and 1 great granddaughter; 4 brothers, Enrique Tena, Joaquin Tena and his wife Inez, and Miguel Tena all of Mexico, and Jesus Tena and his wife Olaya of Hereford; 3 sisters, Aurelia Ortega and her husband Luis, and Ana Chavez and her husband Carlos all of Hereford, and Lourdes Montaño and her husband Gustavo of Hereford, and her beloved Chihuahua, "Chata".

Trini will be joining her parents, her husband, Raydesel Arias, her son, John Arias and her sister, Lenor Ortiz in heaven.
