Thomas "Tom" Frank Sargent, 77, of Hereford, Texas, passed away on Tuesday, March 12, 2024, in Hereford. A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held on Monday, March 18, 2024, at 1:00 P.M. at the First Baptist Church of Hereford with Pastor Jeff Walters, Tom's nephew officiating. A Visitation will be on Sunday, March 17, 2024, from 4:00-6:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Arrangements and Services have been entrusted to Mendez and Mullins Family Funeral Home of Hereford.

Tom was born in Clarendon, Texas on April 26, 1946, to W.C. "Dick" and Pearl Sargent. He attended schools in Pringle and Stinnet and graduated in 1964. He served in the US Army in Vietnam for three years, then went on to graduate from West Texas State University with a degree in agriculture.

Tom came to Hereford, Texas to work for Taylor Evans Company where he met and married Sherri Marsh in 1972, they were married for over 52 years. He began farming for his father-in-law, Virgil Marsh, and then became partners with his brother-in-law Jim Marsh in 1978. He lived and farmed north of Hereford for many years until his recent retirement. One of his proudest accomplishments was farming alongside and mentoring his three nephews, Cory, Cody, and Colby Marsh.

Proceeded in death by his parents, sister, Gail Walters, and niece Melanie Walters, a nephew, Brett Sargent, and his brother-in-law, Jim Marsh.

Survivors include his wife, Sherri Sargent of Hereford, Texas, his brother Don Sargent (Emma Kay) of Georgetown, Texas, a brother-in-law Kirk Walters of Germantown, Tennessee, sister-in-law Kima Marsh Light (Jim) of Schertz, Texas and a sister-in-law Karen Marsh White (Warren) of Hereford, Texas. He is also survived by six nephews and two nieces.
