Teresa Rudd Quillin, age 74, of Lubbock, Texas, and formerly of Hereford, Texas, passed away on Thursday, April 16, 2026, in Lubbock. A Celebration of Life Service is scheduled for Monday, April 27, 2026, at 11:00 AM at the Mendez and Mullins Family Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Lupe Acevedo officiating. Burial will follow at West Park Cemetery. All arrangements and services have been entrusted to Mendez and Mullins Family Funeral Home of Hereford, Texas.

Teresa was born on July 7, 1951, in Hereford, Texas, to Kenneth and Oneta (Simms) Rudd. She grew up in Hereford and graduated from Hereford High School. After high school, Teresa attended Texas Tech University, where she earned her bachelor's degree in mathematics.

Teresa met and married the love of her life, John Patrick Quillin, on January 2, 1971, at the First Methodist Church of Hereford. Together, they created a wonderful life and raised three beautiful children.

For 43 years, Teresa taught at Dalhart Independent School District. She had a big heart for all of her students, always making sure they had clothes to wear and food to eat. Teresa even postponed her own family Christmas to ensure one of her students had a special holiday.

Teresa managed the family ranch, which had been in her family for over 100 years, and continued to care for all the cattle. She was a cowgirl at heart and loved animals of all kinds, especially cattle, horses, dogs, cats, and llamas. Teresa enjoyed cooking for her family, and her children especially loved her chicken fried steak. She had many hobbies and attributes, but her greatest passion was her family. Teresa cherished all her family members, including nieces, nephews, and cousins. Her presence, big heart, and laughter will be missed by all who loved her.

Those left to cherish Teresa's memory are her husband, John Quillin of Dalhart, Texas; her children, Patricia Martinez and her husband Sam of Arlington, Texas, John Quillin and his wife Jessica of Lubbock, and Johanna Kloepper and her husband Matt of Birmingham, Alabama; four grandchildren, Luke Quillin, Abagail Quillin, Ian Martinez, and Samantha Marshall; her siblings, Jean Hood and her husband Mark of Lubbock, Texas, Paul Rudd of Austin, Texas, Jennifer Rudd Divine of Midland, Texas, and James Rudd of Hereford, Texas; as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Teresa is preceded in death by her parents, aunts, and uncles.
