Steve Sanders, 72, a lifelong resident of Hereford, Texas passed away on Saturday, January 11, 2025, in Hereford, surrounded by family. A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, January 18, 2025, at 2:00 P.M. at the Hereford Church of the Nazarene.

Steve was born on March 1, 1952, in Hereford, Texas. He was raised by his loving grandmothers, Grace "Nanny" Sanders and Nadine "Mama D" Wade. Steve was a 1970 Hereford High School graduate. In Jr. High Steve had the adventure of a lifetime traveling to Ethiopia. As a young man he had and cared for many pigeons and was a collector of Spider-Man comics. Steve married Ruby (Perkins) in 1972 in Hereford. He worked for the Texas Highway Department until retirement. Steve was a talented musician who loved all kinds of music and could play the guitar and drums. He played in numerous bands through the years including the worship team at the Nazarene Church and enjoyed going to many concerts and sharing this love of music with his family. Steve was an avid eBay Seller and collector of DVDs and records.

Those left to cherish his memories are his wife, Ruby (Perkins) Sanders of Hereford, Texas; sons Ritchie Sanders (Ruby) of Hereford, Texas and Mitchell Sanders (Currie) of Fritch, Texas; grandchildren, Jeanelle Sanders, AJ Sanders, Camden Sanders, Colter Sanders, and Caleb Sanders; half-sister Vicky Martinez and husband Victor of San Antonio, Texas; aunt Patsy Hampton of Hereford, Texas; cousins Jeff Hampton (Debbie), Jason Hampton and Dustin Hampton; and many band members and good friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents, infant son Bryan Sanders, grandparents Grace "Nanny" Sanders and Ernest and Nadine "Mama D" Wade; half-sister Michelle Vincent, half-brother Mickey Mochua, and cousin Cathy Hampton Northcutt.
