Sheila Brannon, 79, of Hereford, Texas, passed away on Friday, May 20, 2022, in Lubbock, Texas. Celebration of Life Service will be on Saturday, May 28, 2022, at 10:00 A.M. at Mendez and Mullins Family Funeral Home Chapel, with Pastor Ted Taylor officiating. Burial to follow at Rest Lawn Memorial Park Cemetery in Hereford. Arrangements and services have been entrusted to Mendez and Mullins Family Funeral Home of Hereford, Texas.

Sheila was born on August 6, 1942, in Los Angeles California to Buck and Alma (Inman) Owens.

"A stranger is a friend – you haven't yet met." Sheila was extremely outgoing and had many talents. She was a businesswoman, beautiful musician, vocal artist, dancer, and a talented bowler attending many championships. She was also a dedicated mother, loyal wife, devoted Christian, and hard-working woman. Sheila was a successful entrepreneur, establishing several restaurants and running many companies. Some of those are the Taco Tienda and Sheila's Food Nook, where she was famous for her chicken fried steak. Her life was a journey, and she enjoyed the struggles with her whiskey and coke. Some of the best family memories involved a whisky and a dance. Sheila was good and bad but perfect; she had the opportunity to tour with Bobby Bare and Waylon Jennings but chose family life instead. She was a loyal friend who would visit till the end, and many were lucky to have had the chance to experience her friendship. Sheila will be dearly missed by her family and friends.

Those left to cherish her memories are stepson, Johnny Brannon of Pflugerville, Texas; children, D'Nan Combs of Pandora, Ohio, Shea Brannon and wife Paula of Dumas, Texas, Sheridan Brannon and Jason Peterson of Hereford, Texas, and Cortney Brannon of Hereford, Texas; grandchildren, Alicia Brannon, Melanie Brannon, Cory Combs, Paige Combs, Keeley Combs and Nino, Savannah Brannon and Rudy Trevino, RJ Brannon, Lauren Brannon, Kris Saenz, and Korben McMurrian, great-grandchildren, JoJo, Jayden Pena, Liam Montelongo, Dakota Brannon, Kayden Combs, Kassandra Combs, and Asiah Saenz; brother, Tommy Inman of Hereford, Texas; aunt, Coelita Eldridge of Clovis, New Mexico; and many more family members.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Buck and Alma Owens; grandson, Shawn Brannon; and a sister Sharon Slaughter.
