Serapio C. Cabezuela, Sr. 85, of Hereford, Texas passed away Monday, August 9, 2021, in Friona, Texas. Funeral services will be Friday, August 13, 2021, at 10:00 AM at the Iglesia Bautista Fundamental Church located at 700 N. Avenue K., Hereford, Texas, with Pastor Ernest Rodriguez officiating. Burial will follow at West Park Cemetery. Arrangements and services have been entrusted to Mendez and Mullins Family Funeral Home of Hereford, Texas. Viewing will be from 1:00-8:00 PM at the church with a prayer service at 7:00 PM.

Serapio was born November 14, 1935, in Mexico to Hose and Lucia (Calanchi) Cabezuela. Serapio has been a resident of Herford since 1972. He married Rita (Zapata) Cabezuela in 1956. He was a farm laborer most of his life and later also did some pen riding. In Serapio's younger days he broke horses. Serapio enjoyed singing, especially his Christian music he played on his cassette player; he was a fan of watching "Wheel of Fortune," and baseball. He was an avid deer hunter.  One of Serapio's greatest accomplishments in life was his children; he took pride in how he and his wife raised them up. He was a wonderful provider for his family. Serapio loved spending time with his wife and his family and witnessing to everyone he encountered about God and eternal salvation.

Those left to cherish his memories are his wife, Rita Zapata Cabezuela of Hereford, Texas, his children, Jose Luiz Cabezuela and his wife Diana of Hereford, Texas, Alonzo Cabezuela and his wife Beatriz Barrett of Amarillo, Texas, Ernesto Cabezuela and his wife Debra Ann of Hereford, Texas, Hortencia Cabezuela of Amarillo, Texas, Roberto Cabezuela and his wife Ana of Luxenborg, Europe, Serapio Cabezuela III and his wife Cecelia of Hereford, Texas and David Cabezuela and his wife Anna Marie of San Antonio, Texas; 16 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren and 6 great-great grandchildren.

Serapio will be joining his parents, two children, Serapio Cabezuela, Jr. and Rodlfo Cabezuela, a great grandson, Rudy Isaiah Ruiz and his siblings, Demetria Baeza, Maria De Jesús Montez, Antonia Cabezuela, Alfonsa Porras, Moises Cabezuela, Eugenio Cabezuela and Mereguildo Cabezuela in heaven.
