Sara Jai Sumpter, went to be in the hands of the Lord on Wednesday, March 20, 2024, at the age of 26 in Amarillo, Texas. A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held at the Frio Baptist Church of Hereford, at 2:00 P. M. on Tuesday, March 26, 2024, with Pastor Roger George officiating. Funeral Arrangements are entrusted to Mendez and Mullins Family Funeral Home of Hereford. A family and friend visitation will be held on Monday, March 25, 2024, from 5:00 – 8:00 P.M. Burial will be private respectfully.

Sara made this world a better place the day her loving parents were blessed with her on June 4, 1997, in Amarillo, Texas. Sara was a resident of Canyon, Texas, where she graduated from Class of 2015. Sara was active in band and played the clarinet, she was also active as a Color Guard in the Marching Band. Sara met the love of her life Jon Lee at the Frio Baptist Church of Hereford in 2009. Sara had a smile that would light a room up and beautiful green eyes that were filled with warmth and love. Jon Lee loved Sara unconditionally and asked for her hand in marriage on April 30, 2023, Sara was soon to be known as Mrs. Lee on June 1, 2024. Jon will forever cherish their love.

Sara was a very talented painter and enjoyed going to the lake, but amongst all she was the best, loving aunt to her nieces and nephews, Hunter Carroll and C.J. Hernandez, Aubri Walker, Abigail Cross, Kamyah Hernandez; Sara loved to be family oriented, as long as she was with family she was happy. Sara enjoyed listening to music and sending songs to people. Sara truly had a heart of gold and a smile that was contagious and will be cherished.

Those left to cherish Sara's loving, sweet, beautiful memories are her loving fiancé, Jon Lee of Canyon, Texas; her loving parents, Michael Sumpter and Pamela of Hereford, Texas; her caring siblings, Kayla Drumm and Jeremiah Hernandez, Morgan Sumpter and Landry Nelson all of Amarillo, Texas; her sister-in-law, Samantha Lee and Calvin Carroll of Ardmore, Oklahoma, her brother- in-law, Kyle and Karleigh Cross of Canyon, Texas; her aunts, Kelly Mills and her husband Brett of Fritch, Texas, Robin Watson and her husband Mark of Colorado Springs, Colorado, aunt Kimberly Drumm of Amarillo, Texas; her uncles, Justin Drumm and his wife Cassie of Clayton, New Mexico, Douglas Drumm and his wife Dwana of Amarillo, Texas, Michael Drumm and his wife Lina of Columbia, Tommy Escamilla of Houston, Texas, Jonathan Escamilla and his wife Stephanie, Marcos Escamilla and his wife April Blacksher all of Hereford, Texas; aunt, Jessica Casarez and her husband Raymond of Killeen, Texas; her grandparents, Charlotte Sumpter of Fritch, Texas, Paula Price of Hereford, Texas, Gloria Escamilla of Hereford, Texas; grandfather, Dean Varner of Amarillo, Texas.
