Rufina "Fina" Aguillar Tijerina was called home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, February 23, 2021 in Hereford, Texas peacefully surrounded by friends and family. Arrangements and services have been entrusted to Mendez and Mullins Family Funeral Home of Hereford, TX. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, March 20, 2021 at 11:00 A.M. at the Central Church of Christ of Hereford, TX with Pastor Angel Acevedo officiating. Burial to follow at St. Anthony's Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 10:00 A.M. on Saturday, March 20, 2021 prior to service at the church.

Rufina was born on August 26, 1925 in San Luis Potosi, Mexico to the parents of Juan and Francischa (Sanchez) Aguillar. She married the love of her life Carlos Garcia Tijerina, and they shared 35 wonderful years together. Rufina had a love for gardening, plants, and flowers and especially loved her little companion "Canelia". Rufina will be remembered for her love, smile, easy going demeanor, strength, and unwavering love for her family, friends and God Almighty. She will be profoundly missed but will remain in our hearts, especially her homemade corn tortillas.

She is survived by her stepchildren Mary and Domingo Alvarado of Friona, TX, Armando and Janie Tijerina of Lubbock, TX, Hector and Anita Tijerina of Lubbock, TX, Mary Jane and Raymond Ortiz of Amarillo, TX, and Olivia Padilla of La Cruces, NM; nieces, Lupita and Maggie Aguillar of San Luis Potosi, Mexico; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. We would respectfully like to include children of her close friend's Fela and her daughters, her beloved church friends that stood by her till the very end that she loved dearly.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Carlos, brothers Alberto Aguillar and Antonio Aguillar, and stepson Carlos Tijerina Jr.
