Ruben Frank Day, 38, of Hereford, Texas passed away on Sunday, March 30, 2025, in Hereford. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, April 5, 2025, at 2:00 P.M. at Avenue Baptist Church in Hereford with Pastor Ken Varner and Pastor Billy Joe Wall officiating. Arrangements at Cremation Services have been entrusted to Mendez and Mullins Family Funeral Home of Hereford.

Ruben Frank Day was born on July 29, 1986, in Hereford, Texas to Billy Day and Rebecca (Scott) Day. Ruben was raised in Hereford and graduated from Hereford High School in 2005. He worked as a janitor for Hereford Independent School District, and then as a handyman doing various gardening and mechanical jobs in the Hereford community. At a young age, Ruben was baptized and then rededicated his life and chose to be baptized again in 2024 with his nephew at Westway Baptist Church in Hereford.

Ruben enjoyed collecting all kinds of things, especially items with the Disney character, Stitch. He learned about and collected different kinds of guns. Ruben loved pickup trucks, big diesels, and semis; he enjoyed trouble-shooting all kinds of vehicles, especially vintage pickups. Ruben loved his family dearly. His dog, Bruno, was a special companion. Ruben was a constant encouragement to his family. It was important to him to help others; he was funny, very happy, gentle, kind, and never met a stranger. Ruben wanted everyone around him to be happy; always the one to break any silence. His smile was bright, and his laugh full of joy. His presence will be missed.

Those left to cherish his memories are, dad Billy Day and his wife Cathleen of Amarillo; mom Rebecca Day of Hereford; sister Sunny Day of Hereford; brother Matthew Collier of Amarillo; nephews Daimon and Ethen Cozbey and Lucius Aden Day; niece Sydney Aaron Day; paternal grandmother Bonnie Rhodes and her husband Troy of Hereford; maternal grandmother Margret Scott of Hereford; uncles, Frank Day and his wife Wendi of Amarillo, Jesse Scott and his wife Elena of Hereford; Matt Hix and his wife Jennifer of Hereford; Patrick Rhodes of Hereford; Troy Jr Rhodes and his wife Bree of Hereford; aunts, Carol Gilliam and her husband Travis of Hereford, Bonnie Campbell and Kent of Hereford; Shalma Sims of Hereford, Mary Jones of Amarillo; and numerous cousins.

He is preceded in death by paternal grandfather Frank Day, maternal grandfather Frank Scott, and brother Billy Trent Day.
