Rosemary Cockrum passed away on Saturday, January 31, 2026, in Amarillo, surrounded by her loving family, at the age of 64.

Celebration of Life Service will be on Thursday, February 5, 2026, at Mendez and Mullins Family Funeral Home at 2:00 pm, with Pastor Carry King officiating. Burial will follow at West Park Cemetery. A Family and Friend Visitation will be on Thursday from 10:00 AM – 1:00 PM at the funeral home, prior to funeral service.

Rosemary was born on March 31, 1961, in Hereford, Texas, to Herbert and Ruby (Welch) Cockrum. She was a daddy's girl, always at his side learning and helping him in every way. Despite being born blind and facing additional challenges, Rosemary actively enjoyed spending time with her cousins and engaging in activities that interested her. She loved attending church where she would enthusiastically sing to every hymn and play the piano and organ. Remarkably, she played these instruments by ear and was able to replicate a song after hearing it just once.

She cherished spending time with her family and the other girls from her home. She also enjoyed listening to classic country music on CDs, watching "The Price Is Right" each morning, "Wheel of Fortune" every evening, and old country westerns.  Rosemary was always thrilled to receive the gifts she had been hoping for and was known for her sense of humor and friendliness toward everyone. Often, she would playfully tell people to "Go Kiss a Bear."

Rosemary is preceded in death by her parents Herbert and Ruby Cockrum; cousins Nathaniel Sechrist and April Pierce; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Those left to cherish her memories are her cousins, Doris Pierce of Hereford, Texas, Marlen Knabe of Muenster, Texas, Stephanie Burnett and her husband Roy Don and their children, April, Anthony, and Jaxon, of Hereford, Texas; Micheal Pierce and his wife Kristina and their children Keelyana and Gideon of Amarillo, Texas, Douglas Knabe of San Antonio, Texas, Stacie Knabe of Thackerville, Oklahoma, Donald Stone and his wife Brenda; and many more loving cousins, family, and friends.
