Rodolfo "Papa Rudy" Barrientez, 67, of Hereford, Texas passed away on Thursday, January 27, 2022, in Hereford, Texas. A Celebration of Life Service will be on Monday, January 31, 2022, at 3:00 P.M. at Victory Family Worship Center with Pastor Lorenzo Martinez officiating. Arrangements and cremation services have been entrusted to Mendez and Mullins Family Funeral Home of Hereford, Texas. Viewing will be held on Sunday, January 30, 2022, from 3:00 -8:00 P.M. at the funeral home.

Rodolfo was born on December 20, 1954, to Cruz Padilla Barrientez and Eloisa (Alaniz) Barrientez in Meadow, Texas.  He met Alicia Balderaz on October 27, 1990, and they married on October 19, 1996. God had blessed them with a beautiful, blended family. Rodolfo was a long time resident of Hereford, Texas and a well known Insurance Agent. He worked in insurance for over 25 years in the surrounding area. Rodolfo was a wonderful Grandpa, "Papa Rudy", he loved his grandchildren very much and his nieces and nephews. He loved learning about his family tree and sharing that knowledge with the rest of the family. Rodolfo was a great teacher and had a wealth of knowledge to share.  He had a big heart, helping others in need and his doors were always open for family and friends. Rodolfo enjoyed going to the Casino's with his wife and her family and he was a collector of unique rocks, antiques, marbles, and coins.  He liked playing Texas Hold'em and was a Dallas Cowboy's Fan. Rodolfo loved big, loved people, and he especially loved his family. "He was a man of many things, many talents, many wonders."

Those left to cherish his memories are his wife Alicia Balderaz Barrientez of Hereford, Texas, sons, Rodolfo Barrientez Jr. of Los Angeles, California, Steven Barrientez of Amarillo, Texas, and Kevin Hill and his wife Yvette of Hereford, Texas; daughter Jeannie Bowles and husband Chad of Amarillo, Texas; stepson, Abram Hill and his wife Kathleen of Hereford, Texas; stepdaughters, Melissa Ureste and her husband Alex of Bridgeport, Texas and Anna Hill Rodriguez and her husband Sergio of Hereford, Texas; twenty-four grandchildren; six great grandchildren; and three sisters,  Romelia Carbajal and her husband Juan of Hereford, Texas, Shelly Romero of Hereford, Texas, and Grace Rubio and her husband Fleix of Mesquite, Texas.

He is preceded in death by his parents Cruz Padilla Barrientez and Eloisa Alaniz Barrientez; two brothers, Cruz Barrientez Jr. and Guadalupe Alaniz Barrientez; four sisters, Rachel Barrientez DeLeon, Roselinda Barrientez Garza, Susie Barrientez, and Irma Barrientez, grandson Tommy Jayton Hill, and great grandson Andres Hill Castro.
