Robert "Bob" Skarke, 86, of Dawn, Texas, passed away on Thursday, February 22, 2024, in Friona, Texas. Mass of Christian Burial will be on Wednesday, February 28, 2024, at 10:00 AM at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Umbarger, Texas, with Celebrant Alvin Tshuma officiating. Burial of cremains to follow at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery in Umbarger, Texas. Arrangements and cremation services have been entrusted to Mendez and Mullins Family Funeral Home of Hereford, Texas.

Bob was born on June 4, 1937, in Umbarger, Texas, to Otto and Marie (Vorwald) Skarke. Bob has been a resident of Deaf Smith County for 37 years. He married the love of his life, Carolyn Milhoan in 1986, and together they had a beautiful life and family. Bob drove a truck most of his adult life, he was very dedicated to his work and to his family. In Bob's younger days he enjoyed riding bulls and rode up until he was 45 years old. Bob loved his family and cherished the times he had with them. His presence, smile and laughter will be missed.

Those left to cherish his memories are his wife, Carolyn Skarke of Dawn, Texas, his son, Steven Skarke and his wife Barbara of Canyon, Texas, his daughter, Katie Tschida and her husband Zebulon of Katy, Texas; his step-daughter, Lelia Groneman and her husband George of Vega, Texas, and his step-son, Joseph Beckman and his wife Julie of Hondo, Texas; his two sisters, Geraldine Gerber of Canyon, Texas, and Dorothy Helm of Roby, Texas; eight grandchildren and five great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Bob is preceded in death by his parents, his sister, Ann Gerber and his brother, James Skarke and a grandson, Anthony Groneman.

In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to a favorite charity.
