Ricardo "Smiley" Cerda, 38, of Hereford, Texas, passed away on Tuesday, June 14, 2022, in Hereford, Texas. Funeral services will be on Friday, June 24, 2022, at 3:00 PM at the Mendez and Mullins Family Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor David Alvarado officiating. Burial to follow at St. Anthony's Cemetery. Arrangements and services have been entrusted to Mendez and Mullins Family Funeral Home of Hereford, Texas.

"Smiley" was born March 31, 1984, in Hereford, Texas, to Richard and Margarita (Mireles) Cerda. He moved to Clovis, N.M. at an early age and was a resident there for 10 years, later moving back to Hereford. "Smiley" enjoyed crafts, putting things together and putting them back together "his way". He had a very creative mind, his motto was "where there is a will there is a way". He loved animals, especially big dogs, cooking and inventing new dishes.

Those left to cherish his memory are his mother Margaret Jasso of Hereford, Texas, two sisters Lisa Cerda and Rebecca Cerda both of Amarillo, Texas; his grandmother Millie Mitchell of Plainview, Texas; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Ricardo is preceded in death by his father Richard Cerda, a brother Richard Lee Cerda and his maternal grandparents Pablo and Victoria Mireles.
