Obituary

Rema Collier, 76, of Hereford, Texas passed away on Thursday, October 8, 2026, in Hereford.

Rema “Sissy” Collier was born to Harry and Doris (Brice) Coffin on June 10, 1950, in Hereford, Texas. After graduating from Hereford High School in 1968, she met Ronnie Collier while he was in town on military leave. They married in Hereford on October 4, 1969.

Rema worked as a secretary for the Quarter Horse Association and Cactus Feeders before serving as secretary and bookkeeper for Altman Mills Incorporated for 25 years.

Rema enjoyed traveling with her family and her five high school girl friends, camping with Ronnie, playing cards, cooking, and baking. She treasured time with family and friends. Rema was full of love and cherished her children and grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Harry and Doris Coffin; her brother Bill Coffin; and extended family Jonathan Ward.

Those left to cherish her memories are her husband of fifty-seven years Ronnie Collier of Hereford, Texas; her daughter Ronna Altman and her husband Kenny; her son Rick Collier and his wife Jennifer, both of Hereford; eight grandchildren, Jared Collier, Justin Collier, Brandon Box, Brian Box, Carson Altman, Connor Altman, Clayton Altman, and Jade Collier; eight great grandchildren and two on the way; her sister Jeannie Coffin Johnson and her husband Steve of Hereford; niece Savannah Nicole “Nikki” Wall and her husband Bric; several loved nieces and nephews; and loved extended family, Elizabeth “Beth” Skelton of Hereford and Angie Guynn of Amarillo.

Celebration of Life Service will be held on Thursday, October 15, 2026, at 1:00 PM at the First Baptist Church in Hereford with Dr. Nathan Adams officiating. Burial will follow at West Park Cemetery in Hereford under the direction and care of Mendez & Mullins Family Funeral Home.

Visitation and Viewing will be on Wednesday, October 14, 2026, from 6:00 – 8:00 PM at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorials honoring Rema may be made to First Baptist Church, 500 Main St., Hereford, Texas 79045.
