Raymundo Ortiz, Sr. 72, of Hereford, Texas passed away on Saturday, October 14, 2023, in Hereford.

Raymundo was born on February 5, 1951, in Chihuahua, Mexico. He married the love of his life Inez Ortiz in 1980. They raised their family in Friona, Texas, and Hereford, then later moved to Utah. Raymundo and Inez returned to Hereford in 2021.

Raymundo worked in fabrication for a billboard company in Utah. He enjoyed working and was always busy. Raymundo enjoyed tinkering with things and working with his hands. He was an excellent gardener and had a green thumb, he could grow fruit trees from a fruit pit.  Raymundo loved being a grandpa and teaching his grandkids how to garden and fish and was sure to always give them a coin dollar or piece of gum. Raymundo enjoyed nature, long walks, and scenic drives with his wife Inez.

Raymundo was strong, kind, and hardworking, he was a great provider who put his family first and made sure everyone was happy and taken care of. Raymundo was also goofy, friendly, and generous. Raymundo loved his family dearly and he will be missed greatly.

Those left to cherish his memories are son Louis Ortiz and his wife Heather of Layton, Utah; seven grandchildren, Piper Ortiz, Jasmine Ortiz, Joshua Ortiz, Alea Ortiz, Javi Ortiz, Savannah Ortiz, and Johnny Ortiz; siblings, Dora Ortiz Ramirez of Los Angeles, California, Bertha Cabral of Los Angeles, California, Guadalupe Ortiz of Los Angeles, California, Raquel Ortiz of Chihuahua, Mexico, Jose Angel Ortiz of Chihuahua, Mexico, Virginia Ortiz of Los Angels, California, and Susana Ortiz de Molina of Chihuahua, Mexico, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He is preceded in death by his parents, wife Inez Ortiz, and brothers Arturo Ortiz, Roberto Ortiz, and Antonio Ortiz.
