Raymond "Butch" Williams of Hereford, Texas passed away on Thursday, January 15, 2026, in Amarillo, Texas, at the age of 84.

Butch was born on January 14, 1942, in Olton, Texas to Lewis and June Williams. He has been a resident of Hereford for 40 plus years. During his youth, Butch embraced the rodeo lifestyle, riding bulls and saddle broncs. He spent time as a truck driver, transporting cattle across the United States, and 40 years working as a farrier, shoeing horses at numerous racetracks throughout New Mexico, Colorado, and nearby regions. He even had the joy of taking a newly shod horse for a ride around the track prior to racing.  The chance to travel and the work itself brought Butch pride and satisfaction. When he was not working, Butch kept busy tinkering with anything needing fixed.  He loved animals, living in the country, and camping in the mountains. Butch was a god-fearing man who loved his family, loved Jesus and was a good dad.

Those left to cherish his memories are his son Dallas Williams, daughter Michelle Williams, and grandson Logan Williams all of Amarillo, Texas; sister, Dolores Vernon of Canyon, Texas; and extended family, Matthew and Randi Clark and Kathryn Rogers of Amarillo, Texas.

He is preceded in death by his parents Lewis Williams and June Williams Davis, daughter Sharma Williams and two brothers Jerry and Glen Williams.

Graveside Service will be held on Tuesday, January 20, 2026, at 2:00 PM at West Park Cemetery in Hereford under the direction of Mendez and Mullins Family Funeral Home of Hereford.
