Randy "Memaw" Walterscheid, 78, of Hereford, Texas, passed away on Sunday, October 9, 2022, in Amarillo, Texas. Mass of Christian Burial will be on Friday, October 14, 2022, at 10:00 AM at St. Anthony's Catholic Church with Celebrant John Valdez officiating. Burial to follow at St. Anthony's Cemetery. Arrangements and services have been entrusted to Mendez and Mullins Family Funeral Home of Hereford, Texas. Rosary will be on Thursday, October 13, 2022, at 6:00 PM at the funeral home.

Randy was born October 9, 1944, in Muenster, Texas, to Miles and Loree (Ivins) Reed. Randy has been a resident of Hereford, Texas, for 50 plus years. She worked at Deaf Smith County Hospital as a data processor for 20 plus years and as an EMT. She married the love of her life Larry Walterscheid on January 23, 1998. Randy was a longtime member of St. Anthony's Catholic Church; she and Larry enjoyed their time at their cabin in Cloud Croft. Randy found joy in sewing, quilting, and in her younger days she was a rodeo cowgirl, barrel racing and roping, playing volleyball, golf, snow skiing, even when she was pregnant and trail riding on her motorcycle. Randy's greatest love were her children and grandchildren, they all enjoyed having slumber parties at "Memaw's" and going to the farm and driving the golf cart. Randy was dearly loved and will be missed by many.

Those left to cherish her memories are her children Leslie Laningham and her husband David, Tamara Hamilton and Homer Hamilton and his wife Kyla all of Amarillo, Texas, her step-children Kristin Will and her husband David of Amarillo, Texas, Kent Walterscheid and his wife Angela of Prosper, Texas, Jason Walterscheid and his wife Callie of Panhandle, Texas, and a step-daughter-in-law Deborah Walterscheid of Amarillo, Texas; 9 grandchildren, 10 step-grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren and 3 step-great grandchildren on the way and numerous step siblings.

Randy is preceded in death by her parents, her stepdad Sam Pruitt, her husband Larry "Pops" Walterscheid, a brother Gary Reed, a son-in-law Leonard Nikkel, and a stepson Eric Walterscheid.
