Ramona Nañez, 79, of Hereford, Texas passed away Monday, July 27, 2020 in Amarillo. Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday, July 31, 2020 at San Jose Catholic Church at 11:00 AM with Celebrant Nestor Lara, burial to follow at St. Anthony's Cemetery. Services have been entrusted to Mendez and Mullins Family Funeral Home of Hereford, Texas. Viewing will be Thursday from 10:00 AM-8:00 PM and rosary to begin at 6:00PM at the funeral home.

Ramona was born April 22, 1941 in Nuevo Laredo, Tamaulipas, Mexico to Jesus and Guadalupe (Hernandez) Garcia. Ramona has been a resident of Hereford since 1949. She married Porfirio Nañez, Sr. on April 2, 1975 in Clovis, N.M. Ramona worked in the fields, a sewing factory and at Ramirez Factory before retiring in 1998. She loved making tortillas for her family and friends, reading Perry Mason novels, watching Caso Cerado and JAG. Ramona was a devout Catholic and always prayed the rosary she was part of the Crusello's. She enjoyed celebrating her two birthdays and, also loved her Susan Boyle puzzles and her puzzle books which she always had in her purse. Ramona loved playing the lottery and bingo.

Those left to cherish her memories are her husband Porfirio Nañez, Sr. her son Porfirio Nañez, Jr. and daughter-in-law Marisela all of Hereford; daughter Araceli Holguin of Tulsa, OK., daughter Sandra Gerado and son-in-law Toño and son Samuel Nañez and daughter-in-law Bennie all of Hereford; 14 grandchildren Sergio Gerado and wife, Ralph Holguin, Samuel Nañez, Jr., Pedro Gerado and wife, Ericka Nañez and husband, Alexia Nañez and husband, Steve Holguin, Adrian Nañez, Karla Nañez, Daisy Holguin, Wendy Holguin, Jadyn Nañez, Jeremiah Nañez and Jonathon Nañez and 5 great grandchildren.

Ramona will join her parents, her in-laws, 2 brothers and 3 sisters.
