Ramona Cuellar, 89, of Hereford, Texas, passed away on Sunday, December 11, 2022, in Hereford, Texas. Mass of Christian Burial will be on Thursday, December 15, 2022, at 2:00 PM at San Jose Catholic Church with Celebrant Ramon Molina Mora officiating. Burial to follow at West Park Cemetery. Arrangements and services have been entrusted to Mendez and Mullins Family Funeral Home of Hereford, Texas. Viewing will be on Wednesday, December 14, 2022, from 4:00-8:00 PM and rosary at 6:00 PM at the funeral home.

Ramona was born in San Jose Las Varas, Chihuahua, Mexico, to Miguel and Placida (Trujillo) Bustillos. She has been a resident of Hereford for 6 years, moving from El Paso, Texas. Ramona enjoyed sewing, shopping, getting her nails and hair done and being pampered. She loved listening to Christian music, telling her childhood stories to her grandchildren and always having a wonderful sense of humor and being the jokester. Ramona treasured her time at the nursing home and cherished the many friendships she made while being there. Her daughter, Maria Elena, would always bring her favorite coffee and goodies to the nursing home. Ramona delighted in pushing her families' buttons just to see what their reaction would be; she was funny, genuine and a true character, that will be missed dearly by her family and friends.

Those left to cherish her memories are her children Maria Elena Ramirez and her husband Ildefonso Ramirez, Sr., Armando Salas and his wife Gabriela all of Hereford, Texas, and Maria De la Luz of Amarillo, Texas; several siblings, 23 grandchildren 44 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren.

Ramona is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Elias Cuellar, and 4 children Oralia, Jose Angel, Ernesto and Irma Salas.

Ramona atesoraba su tiempo en el hogar de ancianos y apreciaba las muchas amistades que hizo mientras estaba allí. Su hija, María Elena, siempre traía su café y golosinas favoritas al hogar de ancianos. Ramona se deleitaba en presionar los botones de su familia solo para ver cuál sería su reacción; Era divertida, genuina y un verdadero personaje, que su familia y amigos extrañarán mucho.

Los que quedan para apreciar sus recuerdos son sus hijos María Elena Ramírez y su esposo Ildefonso Ramírez, Sr., Armando Salas y su esposa Gabriela, todos de Hereford, Texas, y María De la Luz de Amarillo, Texas; varios hermanos, 23 nietos, 44 bisnietos y 2 tataranietos.

Ramona es precedida en la muerte por sus padres, su esposo Elías Cuéllar, y 4 hijos Oralia, José Ángel, Ernesto e Irma Salas.
