Ramon "Raymond" Hernandez, 70, of Hereford passed away Sunday, September 29, 2019 in Hereford, Texas. Mass of Christian Burial will be Thursday, October 3, 2019 at 10:00 AM at La Iglesia de San Jose Catholic Church with Monsignor Joe Bixenman as celebrant. Burial will follow at St. Anthony's Cemetery in Hereford, Texas. Arrangements and services have been entrusted to Mendez and Mullins Family Funeral Home of Hereford, Texas. Viewing will be on Wednesday from 9:00 AM-8:00 PM, rosary will be recited at 6:00 PM on Wednesday.

Raymond was born March 17, 1949 in Combes, Texas to Felipe and Luz (Palomino) Hernandez. Raymond has been a resident of Hereford for 51 years. He married Angelita Tapia on June 28, 1967 in Hereford. Raymond worked for Holly Sugar for 20 years and retiring from Panhandle Milling after 15 years of employment with them. Raymond was a member of La Iglesia de San Jose Catholic Church. Raymond enjoyed electrical work; being outdoors; visiting with family every chance he could; spending time on his land in Summerfield working on his tractors and being a caretaker for his family and friends. Raymond was looked upon as a "father figure" by many of his family and even some of his co-workers. Raymond's greatest love and joy was his grandchildren, whom adored him; he was the most loving father and grandfather his family could have ever had.

Those left to cherish his memories are his two daughters Suzanne Dowing and her husband Matt and Luz Villarreal and her husband Jose Angel Villarreal, Sr. all of Hereford; his mother Luz Hernandez of Hereford; eight sisters Rosita Gonzalez and her husband Frank; Maria Robles and her husband Jose; Carmen Lopez and her husband Larry; Maria Gonzalez and her husband Fidel; Linda Romo; Minnie Mungia and her husband Anselmo; Felipa Avila and her husband Moses and Lisa Garcia and her husband Tommy all of Hereford; three brothers Juan Hernandez and his wife Felipa; Juan Felipe Hernandez and his wife Sylvia and Emilio Hernandez and his wife Monica all of Hereford; 14 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

Raymond is preceded in death by his dad, his wife Angelita T. Hernandez, a son Ramon Hernandez, Jr., a grandson Colton Melton, two sisters Guadalupe Hernandez and Josefina Tapia and a brother Pedro Hernandez.
