Rafael nació el 26 de octubre de 1972 en San José De Morteros, Zacatecas, México, hijo de Rafael, Sr. y Lilia (González) Rodríguez. Ha sido residente de Hereford, Texas, durante 24 años. Se casó con el amor de su vida Elvira Lomas el 21 de enero de 1999, en México. Rafael ha sido un vaquero la mayor parte de su vida adulta, vaquero en varias engordas el condado de Deaf Smith. Amaba a sus caballos y vivir la vida de rancho con su familia. Rafael era un hombre trabajador, humilde y con un gran corazón, que amaba tremendamente a su esposa e hijas; Luchó contra su enfermedad hasta el final y quería vivir para su familia. Siempre quiso lo mejor para su familia. Fue un maravilloso hijo, esposo, padre, hermano, primo y amigo para muchos. Rafael será extrañado por su familia y amigos.

Los que quedan para apreciar sus recuerdos son su esposa, Elvira Rodríguez de Hereford, Texas, y sus 3 hijas, María Guadalupe, Adriana y Abril Rodríguez, todas de Hereford, Texas; su madre Lilia Gonzales de México; sus hermanos, Juan Rodríguez y su esposa Socorro de Michigan, Gabino Rodríguez y su esposa Elvia de Amarillo, Texas, Nieves Rodríguez de Michigan, Efrén Rodríguez y su esposa Daisy de Amarillo, Texas, Roberto Rodríguez y su esposa Guadalupe de México, y Ricardo Rodríguez de México; su cuñado, Bernardo Madrid de Hereford, Texas, y numerosos tías, tíos y primos.

Rafael es precedido en la muerte por su padre, Rafael Rodríguez, Sr., su hijo, José Rodríguez, su hija, Lilia Rodríguez, tres hermanas, Ana Lilia, Adriana y Flor Adriana Rodríguez, y su hermano, Juan José Rodríguez.

Rafael Rodriguez, 50, of Hereford, Texas, passed away Sunday, February 19, 2023, in Amarillo, Texas. Mass of Christian Burial will be on Thursday, February 23, 2023, at 10:00 AM at San Jose Catholic Church with Celebrant Ramon Molina officiating. Burial will follow at West Park Cemetery. Arrangements and services have been entrusted to Mendez and Mullins Family Funeral Home of Hereford, Texas. Viewing will be on Wednesday, February 22, 2023, from 1:00-8:00 PM and rosary at 6:00 PM at the funeral home.

Rafael was born on October 26, 1972, in San Jose De Morteros, Zacatecas, Mexico, to Rafael, Sr. and Lilia (Gonzalez) Rodriguez. He has been a resident of Hereford, Texas, for 24 years. He married the love of his life Elvira Lomas on January 21, 1999, in Mexico. Rafael has been a cowboy most of his adult life, cowboying at various feed yards in Deaf Smith County. He loved his horses and living the farm life with his family. Rafael was a hardworking, humble man with a big heart, who loved his wife and daughters tremendously; he fought his illness to the very end and wanted to live for his family. He always wanted the best for his family. He was a wonderful son, husband, father, brother, cousin, and friend to many. Rafael will be missed by his family and friends.

Those left to cherish his memories are his wife, Elvira Rodriguez of Hereford, Texas, and his 3 daughters, Maria Guadalupe, Adriana, and Abril Rodriguez all of Hereford, Texas; his mother Lilia Gonzales of Mexico; his siblings, Juan Rodriguez and his wife Socorro of Michigan, Gabino Rodriguez and his wife Elvia of Amarillo, Texas, Nieves Rodriguez of Michigan, Efren Rodriguez and his wife Daisy of Amarillo, Texas, Roberto Rodriguez and his wife Guadalupe of Mexico, and Ricardo Rodriguez of Mexico; his brother-in-law, Bernardo Madrid of Hereford, Texas, and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

Rafael is preceded in death by his father, Rafael Rodriguez, Sr., his son, Jose Rodriguez, his daughter, Lilia Rodriguez, three sisters, Ana Lilia, Adriana, and Flor Adriana Rodriguez, and his brother, Juan Jose Rodriguez.
