Peggy Ann Fitzgerald, 86, of Hereford, Texas, passed away on Wednesday, July 27, 2022, in Amarillo, Texas. No services are scheduled at this time.  Arrangements and cremation services have been entrusted to Mendez and Mullins Family Funeral Home of Hereford, Texas.

Peggy was born February 16, 1936, in Quinlan, Oklahoma, to Noble and Anna Ruth (Parker) Willier. Peggy made Hereford her home when she was in the 7 ^th grade. She was a bookkeeper, a carhop and worked at the Hereford Regional Medical Center as a receptionist, retiring after many years of employment there. Peggy sometimes babysat for her friends on weeknights, and especially on the weekends. Peggy enjoyed cooking and gardening; she will be dearly missed.

Those left to cherish her memories are her children Greta Short of Hereford, Texas, and Chad Fitzgerald of Cedar Hill, Texas; four grandchildren Eric Short, Kate Short, Cody Phommyvong and Colby Phommyvong, five great grandchildren; two brothers Glen Willier of Killeen, Texas and Jack Willier and his wife Rita of Chicago.

Peggy is preceded in death by her parents, a son Alton Winston Short and two sisters Mary Decker and Doris Burgess.
