Pedro I. Favela Perez, 71, of Hereford passed away Saturday, February 10, 2018 in Amarillo. Funeral Services will be Wednesday at 12:00 PM at the Mendez and Mullins Family Funeral Home Chapel with Minister Ernest Cantu officiating, with burial to follow at West Park Cemetery in Hereford. Arrangements are being handled by Mendez and Mullins Family Funeral Home of Hereford. The Favela-Perez Family will be at the funeral home on Tuesday from 9:00AM-8:00PM for receiving of family and friends.

Pedro was born May 12, 1946 in Mexico to Pedro Favela and Maria Patrocinio Perez. He has been a resident of Hereford for 16 years. He married Maria Ortega on July 3, 1973. He worked for the Hereford Gin for awhile and then later went to work for Cargill Meat Solutions. He was a member of the Congregation of Jehovah Witnesses. Pedro enjoyed being outdoors, he planted trees, watermelons, tomatoes and melons, he enjoyed reading and was very active in his church, but above all this he loved spending time with his family.

Those left to cherish his memories are his wife, Maria Pilar Favela of Hereford, a son, Pedro Favela and his wife Rosalba of Hart, a daughter, Maria Guadalupe Sanchez and her husband Hugo of Dimmitt and a son, Jorge Favela and his wife Cristina of Hereford; 2 brothers, Mario Favela and his wife Siria of Idaho and Roberto Huerta of El Paso; 7 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.

Pedro is preceded in death by his parents and 2 brothers, Pablo Huerta and Zacarias Favela.
