Oliva Garcia De Cera, 87, of Hereford, Texas, passed away on Monday, February 26, 2024, in Hereford, surrounded by her loving family. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, March 1, 2024, at 12:30 P.M. at San Jose Catholic Church in Hereford with Father Ricardo Zanetti officiating. Arrangements and Services have been entrusted to Mendez and Mullins Family Funeral Home of Hereford. Viewing and Visitation will be on Thursday, February 29, 2024, from 5:00 -8:00 P.M. at the funeral home with Rosary beginning at 6:00 P.M.

Oliva was born on June 4, 1936, in Mexico to Manuel and Refugia (Ramirez) Garcia. She moved to Hereford when she was a young lady. Oliva worked for Hereford Feedyard for 47 years in housekeeping and worked 10 years as a home health care provider for Caprock Home Health. She was a member of San Jose Catholic Church in Hereford.

Oliva loved to dance, cook, garden, and watch Novelas. She enjoyed time spent with her family and cooking was a big part of that time. Oliva was witty, spoke the truth, and very generous; she was willing to give and share whatever she had with those in need. Oliva loved and lived for her children; she was always there to give them good guidance.

Those left to carry on her legacy are her children, Saul Cera and his wife Katie of Bertram, TX, Joe Cera and his wife Christina of San Marcos, TX, Linda Sumner and her husband Randy of Round Rock, TX, and Olga Cera of Hereford, TX; grandchildren, Megan Cera, Zachary Cera, Cameron Sumner, Carson Sumner, Kylub Martinez and his girlfriend Angela Flores, and Linda Raelene Martinez and her husband Will Diggs; great grandchildren Ermias Diggs and Zenith Diggs; nephews Rogelio Chavira and his wife Chela, Jaime Chavira and his wife Mary Jane, and Jaime Aguilera all of Hereford, Texas; and great nieces Karina Curiel, Kimberly Chavira, and Savannah Chavira.

Oliva is preceded in death by her parents, grandson Nathanael Martinez, sisters Evangelina Garcia Chavira and Estela Garcia, and a brother Humberto Garcia.
