Octavia Lamas, 89, of Hereford, TX, passed away on Monday, April 18, 2017 in Hereford, Texas. Rosary will be recited at 3:00 PM on Thursday, April 20, 2017 at Mendez & Mullins Family Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday at 11:30 AM at La Iglesia de San Jose Mision at the Labor Camp, with Reverend Tony Neusch, Pastor of St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Hereford, as celebrant. Burial will follow in St. Anthony's Catholic Cemetery in Hereford, TX. Arrangements by Mendez & Mullins Family Funeral Home in Hereford, Texas.

Octavia was born in Brownsville, Texas. She married Emiliano Lamas in Harlingen, Texas. She had been employed as a housekeeper by several families in Hereford. Octavia enjoyed playing Mexican bingo with family and friends, cooking for her family, taking care of her grandchildren, she was called "mommy" by her loving grandchildren. She was a little woman with a very Big heart. She will be dearly missed by her family and will remain in their hearts forever.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Emiliano Lamas, 3 Sons: Santos Lamas, Moyces Lamas and Adan Lamas, 1 Daughter: Maria Lamas, and 1 Grandson: Santos Garza.

Survived by 3 Daughters: Juanita Guerrero and husband, Natividad of Uylsses, Kansas, Antonia Vargas and husband, Rogelio of Vernon, Texas, Nelda Garza and husband, Ruben of Uylsses, Kansas

2 Sons: Esteven Lamas and wife, Sylvia of Houston, Texas, Tomas Lamas of Hereford, Texas

20 Grandchildren, Many Great Grandchildren, and Several Great Great Grandchildren
