Michael "Big Mike" Ramirez, 45, a lifelong resident of Hereford, Texas passed away Friday, December 11, 2020 in Amarillo, Texas. Mass of Christian Burial will be Tuesday, December 15, 2020 at 2:00 PM at San Jose Catholic Church with Celebrant Ramon Molina officiating, burial to follow at St. Anthony's Cemetery. Arrangements have been entrusted to Mendez and Mullins Family Funeral Home of Hereford, Texas. Viewing and rosary will take place at Michael's residence on Monday and up until service time, per family request. The Ramirez family has requested that a mask be worn, provided by you during the viewing and rosary. Everyone attending the funeral service must be wearing a mask, provided by you to attend the service. Your safety and health matter to us.

Michael was born May 28, 1975 in Dimmitt, Texas to Ismael Fernandez and Stephanie (Figueroa) Ramirez. Michael attended and graduated from Hereford High School in 1993. He owned and operated his own diesel mechanic shop at the age of 18 until he was 42 years old. When "Big Mike" turned 43 he joined Robert Estrada at Hereford Plumbing. He was Robert's "sidekick" and his "San Sacador". "Big Mike" enjoyed cooking out with family and friends and eating chicken fried steak. He was a loveable teddy bear and could never say "no", to anyone who needed his help, he truly had a heart of gold. He would give his last dime or the shirt off his back to be able to help someone in need. "Big Mike" had a nickname for everyone, he has impacted many lives and will be dearly missed by many.

Those left to cherish his memories are his father, Ismael F. Ramirez of Hereford, Texas; a sister, Edwiges R. Gomez and her husband Refugio of Guanajuata, Mexico, and three brothers, Antonio I. Ramirez, Baltimore Ramirez and his wife Rebecca and Derek Badillo Ramirez all of Hereford, Texas; two nephews, Tyler I. Ramirez and Elias R. Badillo Ramirez both of Hereford, Texas and five nieces, Makayla Robles, Jaymee Cuellar and Sadie Gonzales all of Hereford, Texas, Stephanie Ramirez and Ava Ramirez both of Bovina, Texas.

Michael will be joining his mother, a brother, Edmond Ramirez, his grandparents, Alfredo and Maria Figueroa and Antonio and Consuelo Ramirez and numerous aunts and uncles in heaven.
