Mayra Rios Rodriguez, 21, of Hereford, Texas passed away on Sunday, August 29, 2021, in Amarillo, Texas. Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday, September 4, 2021, at 11:00 A.M. at San Jose Catholic Church with Father Nestor Lara officiating. Burial to follow at West Park Cemetery in Hereford. Arrangements and services have been entrusted to Mendez and Mullins Family Funeral Home of Hereford, Texas. A viewing will be held on Friday, September 3, 2021, from 12:00 PM – 8:00 P.M. with rosary to start at 6:00 P.M.

Mayra was born on August 11, 2000, in Hereford, Texas to Jesus "Jesse" Rios and Luz Maria Rodriguez. She graduated Hereford High School in 2017, after graduation Mayra worked at Food King, as a CNA at Country View Living in Dimmitt, Texas, and at Cargill. Mayra enjoyed listening to music, dancing, playing board games with her cousins Kylie and Ayden, and spending time with all her cousins.  She loved family gatherings, camping trips to Ute Lake, and going to church. Mayra was a member of San Jose Catholic Church. Mayra's smile, dimples and laugh could light up an entire room. She was the strongest, bravest person and despite her pain she was always smiling. Mayra was dearly loved and will be greatly missed.

Those left to cherish her memories are her parents, Jesse Rios and Luz Rodriguez, siblings Rocio Rios and Rodney Rios all of Hereford, Texas; maternal grandparents Juan Pablo and Elena Rodriguez of Dimmitt, Texas; paternal grandmother Luz Elena Marquez of Hereford, Texas; uncles Pablo Rodriguez and wife Monica Toscano of Hereford, Texas; Francisco Rodriguez and wife Nancy of Amarillo, Texas; Eduardo Rodriguez and wife Sanjuana of Coronado Acres; goddaughter Kylie Rodriguez of Hereford, Texas; godmother Maria Rosalez of Spring Lake, Texas; godfather Eduardo Rosalez of Odessa, Texas; several aunts and uncles and numerous cousins.

Mayra is preceded in death by her paternal grandfather Raul Marquez.
