Maurilio "Megila" Rodriguez, Sr. 67, longtime resident of Hereford, Texas passed away on Monday, September 28, 2020, in Hereford. Mass of a Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, October 3, 2020 at 10:00 AM with Father Ramon Molina officiating, burial to follow at St. Anthony's Cemetery. Arrangements have been entrusted to Mendez and Mullins Family Funeral Home. Viewing will be held on Friday from 10:00 AM to 8:00 PM at the funeral home; rosary to begin at 6:00 PM in the Mendez and Mullins Family Funeral Home Chapel.  Due to the COVID – 19 virus mandates everyone attending Mass must wear a mask provided by themselves.

Maurilio was born on June 7, 1953 in Hereford, TX to Jose and Isabella (Reyes) Rodriguez. Maurilio lived in Dimmitt then moved back to Hereford in 2002.  He married Florencia Gonzales on June 19, 2020 in Dimmitt, they met while dancing. Maurilio was a very happy man; he was always down to have a good time, and a smile and laughter was seen and heard by all. He enjoyed working on cars, his favorite was pickups.  Maurilio loved to visit Minnesota, loved his family, his grandkids, and babies.  He will be missed dearly.

Those left to cherish his memories are his wife, Florencia Rodriguez of Hereford, TX; children: Leon Rodriguez and Juan Rodriguez both of Dimmitt, TX, Pricilla Rodriguez of Hereford, TX, Roy Rodriguez of Dimmitt, TX, Joe Castaneda and wife Ana of Hereford, TX, Patricia Garza and husband Michael of Levelland, TX, Connie Mendoza and husband Joe of Hereford, TX and Leigha Reyes of Hereford, TX; siblings: Janie Moreno and Lupita Rodriguez of Dalhart, TX, Frank Rodriguez and wife Lyida of Sunray, TX, and Maggie Hernandez and husband Francisco of Albuquerque, NM; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents, son Maurilio Rodriguez, Jr. and two sisters Carmen Ruiz and Martina Moreno.
