Matt Castillo, 47, a lifelong resident of Hereford, Texas, passed away on Saturday, January 21, 2023, in Hereford, Texas. A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held on Friday, January 27, 2023, at 2:00 PM at the Mendez and Mullins Family Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Ruben Coronado and friends officiating. Arrangements and cremation services have been entrusted to Mendez and Mullins Family Funeral Home of Hereford, Texas.

Matt was born on October 21, 1975, in Hereford, Texas, to Guadalupe and Margaret Castillo. He graduated from Hereford High School in 1994 and attended San Angelo State. He married the love of his life Cynthia (Cindy) Bedolla, in 2011. Matt loved listening to rock music, giving random facts, going to concerts, making Big Feast for his boys, making everyone around him laugh, and he was a Dallas Cowboys fan and a Tony Romo enjoyer. Matt cherished life and always wanted to have a good time, but most of all he loved his family and friends tremendously. He will be dearly missed by many.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Cindy Castillo of Hereford, Texas; two sons Gabriel Castillo of Hereford, Texas, and Lucas Byrd of Amarillo, Texas; his mother, Maggie Castillo of Amarillo, Texas; his sister Samantha Castillo and Manuel Hernandez of Amarillo, Texas; his in-laws Vicky and Rosario Bedolla of Hereford, Texas; and his cousin (like his sister) Rachel Salinas of Hereford, Texas, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Matt is preceded in death by his father, Guadalupe Castillo.
