Mateo Axel Flores was born September 13, 2020 in Amarillo, Texas and passed away September 14, 2020. Funeral Services will be on Monday, September 21, 2020 at Mendez and Mullins Family Funeral Home Chapel at 10:00 AM with Pastor Santos Cuevas officiating; burial to follow at West Park Cemetery. Services have been entrusted to Mendez and Mullins Family Funeral Home. Viewing will be Sunday, September 20, 2020 from 1:30 – 8:00 PM at the funeral home.

When God calls little children

To dwell with him above,

We mortals sometime question

The wisdom of His love.

For no heartache compares with

The death of one small child,

Who does so much to make our world

Seem wonderful and mild.

Perhaps God tires of calling

The aged to his fold,

So He picks a rosebud

Before it can grow old.

God knows how much we need them,

And so He takes but few

To make the land of Heaven

More beautiful to view.

Believing this is difficult,

Still somehow we must try.

The saddest work mankind know,

Will always be "Goodbye."

So, when a little child departs,

We who are left behind

Must realize God loves children.

Angels are hard to find.

Those left to cherish Mateo's memories are his parents Juan Flores and Jacquelyn DeLaRosa, sister Isabella Flores, brothers Sebastian Flores, Lorenzo Flores and twin brother Liam Flores all of Hereford, TX; Paternal Grandparents: Aracely Heredia and Step Grandad Juan Heredia of Bovina, TX, and Juan Francisco Flores of Cuencame, MX; Maternal Grandmother Genoveva Hernandez of Hereford, TX; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

Mateo will join his Maternal Grandfather Rey Spencer DeLaRosa, Sr.
