Mary Gamboa is now rejoicing in the Lord's presence at the age of 78 surrounded by her loving family in her home in Hereford. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Anthony's Catholic Church on Tuesday, October 22, 2024, at 10:00 A.M. with Father Grant Spinhirne officiating. A family and friend visitation will be held Monday, October 21, 2024, from 4:00-8:00 P.M. with a Rosary being recited at 6:00 P.M. at the Funeral home. The Gamboa family has entrusted Cremation and Funeral Services to Mendez and Mullins Family Funeral Home of Hereford.

Mary was born to her loving parents, Florencio and Ramona (Gonzales) Gonzales in Clovis, New Mexico. The day Mary was born she made this world a better place. Mary was a long-time Hereford resident, she worked in the agriculture industry where she met the love of her life, Freddie Gamboa, Sr. They got married on December 29, 1963, at the La Iglesia de San Jose La Mision in Hereford. Together they raised a beautiful family in Hereford, instilled many lessons in their children to cherish for eternity. Mary helped operate her husband's business "Gamboa Radiator Shop" for 30 plus years. She was employed with Hereford ISD for 20 plus years; Mary was a little lady but had the biggest heart, she was truly a role model for our community and served wholeheartedly. Mary was awarded Citizen of the year by the Hereford Elks Lodge for 2024. She worked as the social worker and advocate for the Deaf Smith County Crisis Center for 30 plus years. Mary was awarded Texas Advocate of the year in 2008 and was well deserved. She was dedicated to her job and had a passion for helping others. Mary had a servant's heart and was loved by her community; she had a smile that would light up any room.

Mary loved her family and loved to attend her grandchildren's sporting events, she especially loved holidays with her family. She enjoyed playing cards and going to the casino and she was the best at baking. She understood life was too short not to get up and dance, she enjoyed dancing and enjoying the moment. Later in her life, she was a part of the "Girls Night Out Group" and will be missed dearly by her loving friends.

Those left to carry on her loving spirit and legacy are her children, Ramon Gamboa and his wife Elia of Austin, Texas, Robert Gamboa and his wife Eve of Midland, Texas, Freddie Gamboa, Jr., and his wife Michelle of San Antonio, Texas, Angela Gamboa of Hereford, Texas; her grandchildren, Kirstie, Alexis, Nicholas, Jonathan, Lindsay, Christopher, Kyle, Kyla, Madison; great granddaughter Abella, her sibling's, Jane Alvarez and her husband Jose, Bertha Hernandez and her husband Joe, Betty Hernandez and her husband Lino, Debbie Martinez and her husband Vince, Florencio Gonzales.
