Mary Crist, 90, a longtime resident of Hereford, Texas, passed away on Friday, July 19, 2024, in Hereford. Celebration of Life Funeral Services will be on Tuesday, July 23, 2024, at 2:30 PM at the Mendez and Mullins Family Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Michael Page officiating. Burial will follow at West Park Cemetery. Arrangements and services have been entrusted to Mendez and Mullins Family Funeral Home of Hereford, Texas. Family and friend visitation will be on Tuesday, July 23, 2024, from 1:00-2:00 PM.

Mary was born on July 6, 1934, in Hart, Texas, to Clifford Scott and Ruby Irene (Riley) Smith. She has been a resident of Hereford since 1950. She married the love of her life, Ronald Alden Crist, on October 30, 1950, in Farwell, Texas. Together they had a beautiful life and family. Mary was an accomplished artist and painter, musician and vocalist, seamstress, and she was very skilled with horses. She had her own religious album, and she won many saddles and buckles after the age of 50 through the American Cutting Horse Association. Mary loved to bake for her family and always made Christmas the most favorite holiday for her grandchildren. Mary's sweet spirit and beautiful smile will be missed by all who loved her.

Those left to cherish her memories are her daughters, Cathy Crist of Wellington, and Carla Omey and her husband Alan of Houston; 4 grandchildren, Cristal Dudley and her husband Jason of Hereford, Weston McNutt of Amarillo, Cody Sargent and his wife Leighann of Arizona, and Amber McCathern of Buda; 12 great-grandchildren, Gabriel Mason, Cameronn Mason, Bluebonnet McCathern, Jake Kelso, Cami Kelso, Peyton Kelso, Paisley Sargent, Coby Ray, Carli Evans, Caroline Hartsfield, Braley Spitz and Laurel Cogdel; and 2 great-great grandchildren, Levi Kelso and Hazel Hicken; 2 brothers, Don Smith and his wife Nelda of New Mexico, and Clifford Smith and his wife Benna of California.

Mary will be joining her parents, her husband, Ronald Alden Crist, 2 sisters, Dorotha Fulkerson and Betty Smith, 2 brothers, Lloyd Smith and Dale Smith, her grandson, Michael McCathern, her granddaughter, Shelby White and a great grandson, Wade McNutt in heaven.
