Martha Salinas Ruiz, 86, of Hereford, Texas, passed away on Wednesday, February 21, 2024, in Hereford. Mass of Christian Burial will be on Monday, February 26, 2024, at 1:00 PM at San Jose Catholic Church with Celebrant Jose Ricardo Zanetti officiating. Burial to follow at Rest Lawn Memorial Park Cemetery in Hereford. Arrangements and services have been entrusted to Mendez and Mullins Family Funeral Home of Hereford, Texas. Viewing will be on Sunday, February 25, 2024, from 4:00-8:00 PM with prayer service at 6:00 PM at the funeral home.

Martha was born on December 13, 1937, to Fidencio Salinas and Diduvina Zamora in La Joya, Texas. She married the love of her life Juan Ruiz on April 4, 1955, in Edinburg, Texas, and together for 68 years they had a beautiful life and a wonderful family. Martha was employed at Hereford ISD as a Parental Involvement Counselor for 30 years. She was a member of San Jose Catholic Church, and the Red Hatters Club, she was a line dancer and was the host and life of the party at several family and friend gatherings. Martha attended most of all her children's and grandchildren's sporting events and most of the Herd's football games. Martha was a strong woman who loved to have her nails and hair done, she enjoyed crocheting, watching "Wheel of Fortune" and going on the party van. Her spunky presence and personality, beautiful smile and laughter will be missed by many.

Those left behind to cherish her memories are her husband, Juan Ruiz of Hereford, Texas; three daughters, Adelidaida Lala Murrillo, Zelda Flores, and Carmen Castillo all of Hereford, Texas; four sons, Juan Ruiz, Jr. and Jose Fidencio Ruiz both of Hereford, Texas, Fabian Ruiz and Jaime Ruiz both of Amarillo, Texas; one brother, Manuel Martinez of Dimmitt, Texas; eight sisters, Janie Duke, Rosalinda Tapia and Sylvia Soliz all of Dallas, Texas, Maria Clark of Boerne, Texas, Angie Webster of Boise, Idaho, Helen Reyna of Edinburg, Texas, Juanita Espinoza of Amarillo, Texas, and Carolina Barron of Dimmitt, Texas; 29 grandchildren, 41 great grandchildren and 20 great-great grandchildren.

Martha is preceded in death by her parents, Fidencio and Juanita Salinas, and Lucio and Diduvina Martinez; two sons, Julian, and David Ruiz; a grandson, Jimmy Ruiz, and seven brothers, Lorenzo Salinas, Fidencio Lenny Salinas, Ramon Salinas, Agustin Salinas, Max Martinez, Oscar Salinas, and Beto Martinez.
