Marlene Shirley Roe, 80, of Hereford, Texas, passed away on Friday, August 11, 2023, in Amarillo, Texas. Graveside services will be on Thursday, August 17, 2023, at 11:00 AM at West Park Cemetery with Pastor Jim Watkins officiating. Arrangements and services have been entrusted to Mendez and Mullins Family Funeral Home of Hereford, Texas.

Marlene Shirley Roe was swept off her feet again on August 11, 2023 by the love of her life, deceased husband, Thomas Wendell Roe. Now that they are back together, we know they are fishing, dancing and traveling in Heaven.

Marlene would schedule her appointments around her Rummikub and Bingo games. Those two games were her cardio along with watching her four bird feeders which brought in beautiful birds.

Marlene loved many things but crafting she loved the most. This was noticed by all who would visit her house full of crafts. Marlene's love of crafts helped her develop a love for Amazon which resulted in daily deliveries. Amazon will miss her along with the rest of her loving family and friends.

Marlene retired from 30 years at Bar G Feedyard, she would often tell her grandchildren Thomas James Roe of Amarillo, TX, Shianne Bailey Moody of Odem, TX and Cameron Rachelle Roe of Denton, TX that the smell of the feedlot was the smell of money which really confused them.

Marlene's son Rusty Roe and wife Jack-E of Amarillo, TX inherited a checklist. Daughter, Wendy McLean and husband Bill of Amarillo, TX inherited a house full of her stuff to go through.

Marlene's sister, Pat Wehner and her husband Don of Rapid City, SD shared in her love of crafts and were amazing tour guides when the family would travel to Sturgis, SD.

Marlene was preceded in death by her father Fred Mullenix and her mother Alice Mullenix (Grandma Noodle) she made the most amazing chicken and noodle soup which no one has ever been able to recreate.

We will be celebrating Marlene's life with bright colors at West Park Cemetery for her graveside service on August 17th at 11:00am.
