Mario Juarez Rodriguez, 74, passed away peacefully on October 25, 2024, in Amarillo, TX. Born on April 10, 1950, in Asherton, Texas to Juan D. and Julia Rodriguez.

A Mass of Christian Burial of Mario's life will be held at St. Anthony's Catholic Church on Thursday, October 31, 2024, at 10:00 AM with Celebrant Grant Spinhirne officiating. Burial to follow at St. Anthony's Cemetery. Arrangements and services have been entrusted to Mendez and Mullins Family Funeral Home of Hereford, Texas. Viewing will be on Wednesday, October 30, 2024, from 1:00-8:00 PM and rosary at 6:00 PM at Mendez and Mullins Family Funeral Home.

Mario graduated from Asherton High School in 1970. Mario married Mary, the love of his life, in December of 1970 in Asherton, Texas.  They were happily married for 53 years, 10 months, and 2 days to be exact.  Their devotion to each other was admired by so many in the family. He worked for Arrowhead Mills for 27 years as a milling supervisor and concluded his professional journey with 18 years of service in the HVAC maintenance department at Hereford ISD.

Mario was a dedicated husband and father. A kind-hearted man, known for his jokes and humor and dedication to his family. He was a man of few words, but the words he shared with others were always words of wisdom. He was a member of St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Hereford for over 50 years, where he lived his faith actively within his community.

In his spare time, Mario cherished spending time with his family, particularly his grandchildren, who were his pride and joy. He was a familiar face in the stands at numerous sports events, supporting his grandchildren. A western movie fan, Mario also enjoyed working on his cherished 1972 Nova and 1977 Chevy pickup. His little ranch was a source of joy where he raised various animals and after retirement, he was frequently sought after for his handyman skills. Music and dancing were his favorite things to do; he was often seen with a smile, and enjoyed traveling with his wife, Mary.

Those left to cherish his memories are his loving wife, Mary "Chata" Rodriguez, his daughter Cecelia Cabezuela, and son Michael Rodriguez, along with their spouses Serapio and Maribel respectively. He was a proud grandfather to nine grandchildren: Trevor Vasquez and his wife, Dana, of Amarillo; Nate and Rene Cabezuela of San Antonio; Marissa and Jonathan Zambrano of Amarillo; Zack and Raegan Cabezuela of Hereford; Celeste Garza of Garland, Chloe, Ryan and Michelle Rodriguez of Garland; and Anneliese Vasquez of Amarillo. Additionally, he had eight great-grandchildren: Jaxx, Zander, and Jonah Zambrano; Auggie and Oliver Vasquez; Kiya and Addyson Cabezuela; and Sophia Cabezuela.

He is also survived by his siblings Olga Espinoza, Al Rodriguez and his wife Kathy of Van Alstyne, Joe Rodriguez and wife Gloria of Garland, Armando Rodriguez and wife Kristi of Dublin, Antonio Rodriguez and wife Lily of Garland, Freddy Rodriguez and wife Anne of Garland and Alex Rodriguez along with numerous nephews and niece. Mario was preceded in death by his parents, Juan D. and Julia Rodriguez, and his brothers, Oscar and Juan D. Rodriguez Jr.

Mario's life was a testament to his hardworking nature and his unwavering commitment to his family and community. His legacy of warmth, humor, generosity and faith will live on.
