Marian Yosten, 88, of Hereford, Texas passed away on Wednesday, October 11, 2023, in Dimmitt, Texas, surrounded by her loving family. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, October 14, 2023, at 10:00 A.M. at St. Anthony's Catholic Church with Father Grant Spinhirne officiating. Burial to follow at St. Anthony's Catholic Cemetery under the direction of Mendez and Mullins Family Funeral Home. Visitation and Viewing will be on Friday, October 13, 2023, at the funeral home from 3:00 – 5:00 P.M. with a Rosary/Vigil Service beginning at 6:00 P.M. at St. Anthony's Catholic Church.

Marian was born on January 20, 1935, in Gainesville, Texas, to Ewald and Dorothy (Mages) Berend. She graduated in 1955 from St. Joseph's School of Nursing in Fort Worth, Texas. Marian married Nick Yosten on November 26, 1955, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Gainesville, Texas, she has been a resident of Hereford since 1958.

She started working for Deaf Smith County Hospital in 1958 and worked there for 12 years, before becoming the Director of Nursing at Westgate Nursing Home. Marian also worked at the Hereford Public Health Clinic; she retired in 1980. Marian volunteered at Hereford Regional Medical Center as a pink lady for fifteen years, she was a member of St. Anthony's Catholic Church and member of the St. Anthony's Women's Organization.

Marian enjoyed painting, crocheting, canning, and traveling. She was a proud homemaker, lovingly raising her children.

Those left to cherish her memories are her husband of 67 years, Nick Yosten of Hereford, Texas; children, Gregg Yosten and his wife Lindy of Hereford, Texas, Gayle Shafer and her husband Terry of The Woodlands, Texas, Glynn Yosten and his wife Brenda of Hereford, Texas, Gaylynne Carr and her husband Scott of Arlington, Texas, Tony Yosten and his wife Shyla of Arlington, Texas, and Ricky Yosten of Hereford, Texas; seventeen grandchildren, Tyson Yosten, Sarah McLaughlin, Chase Yosten, Chloe Shafer, Cameron Shafer, Brionne Clark, Blake Yosten, Kursten Sroka, Cassie Clear, Korie Carr, Dax Yosten, Brock Yosten, Dillon Yosten, Ferrin Yosten, Preston Yosten, Madison Yosten, and Alyssa Yosten; fourteen great-grandchildren; sister, Doris Zinser of Conway, Arkansas; and sister-in-law JoAnn Berend of Muenster, Texas.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Ewald and Dorothy Berend, son Garry Yosten, grandson Brock Yosten, and brother Leroy Berend.
