Maria Elida Uvalle, 75, of Hereford passed away Friday, February 2, 2018 in Amarillo. Family and friend viewing and visitation will be Tuesday from 9:00 AM-5:00 PM at Mendez and Mullins Family Funeral Home. Cremation services will be arranged by Mendez and Mullins Family Funeral Home of Hereford.

Maria was born May 27, 1942 in San Benito, Texas to Benancio and Josefina (Hernandez) Rivera. She has been a resident of Hereford for more than 50 years. She married Jose Guadalupe Uvalle in 1959. Maria raised her 7 children and helped her husband farm. She enjoyed gardening, crocheting, playing cards, singing and worshiping her Lord. She was a member of Iglesia de Cristo in Hereford.

Those left to cherish her memories are her children, Cindy Uvalle, Jose Uvalle, Suzie Gonzales, Linda Uvalle, Raymond Uvalle and Israel Uvalle, a brother, Eliseo Rivera and his wife Carol, numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.

Maria is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Jose Guadalupe Uvalle, a daughter, Grace Uvalle, two granddaughters, Marlene Gonzales and Jenifer Romero and one sister, Maria Alisa Cantu.
