Maria Antonia "Tonia" Zuniga, 70, of Hereford, Texas passed away Thursday, November 26, 2020 in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Mass of Christian Burial will be Thursday, December 3, 2020 at San Jose Catholic Church at 2:00 PM with Celebrant Nestor Lara officiating. Arrangements and cremation services have been entrusted to Mendez and Mullins Family Funeral Home of Hereford, Texas. There will be no viewing. A face mask must be worn to attend the funeral service provided by you. Your safety and health matter to us.

Tonia has been a resident of Hereford since 1957. She married Demetrio Zuniga, Sr. on December 18, 1966 at St. Anthony's Catholic Church. Tonia was a homemaker raising her 6 children and caring for her husband. She was a member at San Jose Catholic Church. Tonia enjoyed sewing, coloring, doing crossword puzzles, spending time in her yard and tending to her rose bushes, but her greatest joy was taking care of her great grandchildren. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends.

Those left to cherish her memories are her children, Gracie Zuniga of Ruidoso Downs, NM., Demetrio Zuniga, Jr. and his wife Opie of Big Springs, TX., Laurie Martinez and her husband Joe, Lisa Rubio, Marivel Zuniga and her husband Rene Rodriguez and Veronica Barron and her husband Juan all of Hereford, TX., a brother Isabel Morales and wife Gloria of Hereford, TX., 3 sisters, Alicia Cerda of Amarillo, TX., Sylvia Elizondo of Lubbock, TX., and Maria Rodriguez and her husband Baldemar of McAllen, TX., 20 grandchildren and 29 great grandchildren.

Tonia will be joining her parents, her husband Demetrio, Sr., 3 daughters, Martha, Josefina and Angelita Zuniga and 3 brothers Alberto Mancha, Jose Luis Morales and Santos Morales, Jr., in heaven.
