Maria T. Salinas Maldonado, 94, a resident of Castro and Deaf Smith counties passed away Monday, May 24, 2021 in Lubbock, Texas. Mass of Christian Burial will be Thursday, May 27, 2021 at 2:00 P.M. at San Jose Catholic Church with Celebrant Ramon Molina. Burial to follow at West Park Cemetery. Arrangements and services have been entrusted to Mendez and Mullins Family Funeral Home of Hereford, Texas. Viewing will be from 3:00 PM- 8:00 PM on Wednesday, May 26, 2021 at the funeral home and rosary will be recited at 6:00 PM.

Maria was born November 2, 1926 in Urireo, Guanajuato, Mexico to Cornelio and Herlinda (Zepeda) Salinas. Maria has been a resident of Castro and Deaf Smith counties since 1980. She married Jose Guadalupe Maldonado in 1944. Maria took much pride in raising her children and caring for her husband. She enjoyed singing, spending time in the kitchen surrounded by her family, knitting, sewing, attending church, praying in her home, and always sending and giving her blessings to her family. Maria loved her family, she especially loved her grandchildren, she was always in good spirits and enjoyed laughing and having a good time. Maria was a member of San Jose Catholic Church of Hereford.

Those left to cherish her memories are her husband, Jose Guadalupe Maldonado of Hereford, Texas, her four children Nicolas Maldonado and his wife Ana of Mexico, Eva Pina and her husband Roberto of Friona, Texas, Cruz Maldonado and his wife Joaquina of Hereford, Texas and Raquel Molina and her husband Antonio of Hereford, Texas; five brothers Jose Luz Salinas and his wife Ofelia of Mexico, David Salinas and his wife Luz of Friona, Texas, Fidel Salinas and his wife Antonia of Orlando, Florida, Eliseo Salinas and his wife Carmen of Hereford, Texas and Ignacio Salinas and his wife Teresa of Genoa, Illinois, and a sister Maria Luz Salinas of Rockford, Illinois; 13 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren.

Maria will be joining her parents, four sisters and 1 brother in heaven.
