Maria E Quintana De Ramírez "Mami Licha", de 78 años, de Hereford, Texas, falleció el jueves 26 de febrero de 2026 en Amarillo, Texas, rodeada de su amorosa familia.

María nació el 3 de mayo de 1947 en Santiago Capitano, Guanajuato, México, hija de Jesús Quintana y Guadalupe Jiménez. María conoció a Roberto Ramírez en México, después de admirarle desde el jardín mientras iba a trabajar cada día. Estuvieron casados durante 63 años. María y Roberto se mudaron a Hereford en 1992.

María asistía a la Iglesia Católica de San José, rezando fielmente el Rosario todos los días. Le encantaba cocinar y servir comidas no solo para su familia, sino también para cualquiera que visitara su casa. Sus tortillas, gorditas, carnitas y muchos otros platos siempre eran un placer. Cuando venían sus nietos, les preparaba tortillas especiales con forma de ranita. Le gustaba la jardinería, cuidar sus flores y tejer. Hacía muchas mantas para los bebés nuevos de la familia y le encantaba cuidar de sus nietos, jugando a la pelota con ellos y enseñándoles ejercicios.  Mamá Licha estaba dedicada a su familia, siempre poniéndolos en primer lugar. Era fuerte, cariñosa, generosa y desinteresada.

Los que quedan para continuar su legado son su marido Roberto Ramírez, de Hereford, Texas; hijos; Carolina Ramírez de Hereford, Texas; Rubén Ramírez de Indiana; Roberto Ramírez de México; y Margarita Ramírez de Amherst, Texas; nietos, Yecenia Ayala (Manuel Muñoz), Cristal Calderón (Omar), Kelly Ramírez, Miguel Ramírez, Brian Ramírez, Isabel Ramírez, Fernando Ramírez, Ulysses Ramírez, Ruby Ramírez, Bethany Muñoz, Jasmine Ramirez, Héctor Muñoz, Mireya Ramirez, Kendra Muñoz, Kenia Muñoz, Carolinne Calderón, Carine Calderón y Cileo Calderón; hermanos, Maria Aurora Quintana Arroyo (Jesus) de Hereford, Texas; Angelina Quintana Banda (Blaz) de Hereford, Texas; Alma Quintana Luvia (Mane) de Florida; Blanca Quintana de Florida; Francisco Quintana (Irma) de Muleshoe, Texas; y Jesus Quintana, de México.

La preceden en la muerte sus padres Jesús y Guadalupe Quintana, su hijo pequeño y su hija bebé, sus hermanos José Luis Quintana, Adalina Quintana Chávez, Víctor Manuel Quintana y María Quintana Gómez, y su nieto MaxEmiliano Omar Calderón.

La misa funeral será el miércoles 4 de marzo de 2026 a las 10:00 de la mañana en la Iglesia Católica de San José en Hereford, con el celebrante Shane Wieck. Los arreglos y los servicios de cremación han sido confiados a la funeraria familiar Mendez and Mullins.

La velatoria y el velatorio serán el martes 3 de marzo de 2026, de 10:00 a 20:00, en la funeraria, con un servicio de Rosario/Vigilia a las 18:00.

Maria E Quintana De Ramirez "Mami Licha", 78, of Hereford, Texas, passed away on Thursday, February 26, 2026, in Amarillo, Texas surrounded by her loving family.

Maria was born on May 3, 1947, in Santiago Capitano, Guanajuato, Mexico to Jesus Quintana and Guadalupe Jimenez. Maria met Roberto Ramirez in Mexico, after admiring him from the garden as he went to work each day. They were married for 63 years. Maria and Roberto moved to Hereford in 1992.

Maria attended San Jose Catholic Church, faithfully praying the Rosary every day. She loved cooking and serving meals not only for her family but also for anyone who visited her home. Her tortillas, gorditas, carnitas, and many other dishes were always a treat. When her grandchildren came over, she would make them special tortillas shaped like little frogs. She enjoyed gardening, caring for her flowers and knitting. She made many blankets for new babies in the family and loved to take care of her grandchildren, playing ball with them and teaching them exercises.  Mama Licha was dedicated to her family, always putting them first. She was strong, loving, giving, and selfless.

Those left to carry on her legacy are her husband Roberto Ramirez of Hereford, Texas; children; Carolina Ramirez of Hereford, Texas, Ruben Ramirez of Indiana, Roberto Ramirez of Mexico, and Margarita Ramirez of Amherst, Texas; grandchildren, Yecenia Ayala (Manuel Munoz), Cristal Calderon (Omar), Kelly Ramirez, Miguel Ramirez, Brian Ramirez, Isabel Ramirez, Fernando Ramirez, Ulysses Ramirez, Ruby Ramirez, Bethany Munoz, Jasmine Ramirez, Hector Munoz, Mireya  Ramirez, Kendra Munoz, Kenia Munoz, Carolinne Calderon, Carine Calderon, and Celio Calderon; siblings, Maria Aurora Quintana Arroyo (Jesus) of Hereford, Texas, Angelina Quintana Banda (Blaz) of Hereford, Texas, Alma Quintana Luvia (Mane) of Florida, Blanca Quintana of Florida, Francisco Quintana (Irma) of Muleshoe, Texas, and Jesus Quintana of Mexico.

She is preceded in death by her parents Jesus and Guadalupe Quintana, infant son and infant daughter, siblings, Jose Luies Quintana, Adalina Quintana Chavez, Victor Manuel Quintana, and Maria Quintana Gomez, and grandson MaxEmiliano Omar Calderon.

Funeral Mass will be on Wednesday, March 4, 2026, at 10:00 AM at San Jose Catholic Church in Hereford, with Celebrant Shane Wieck. Arrangements and Cremation Services have been entrusted to Mendez and Mullins Family Funeral Home.

Viewing and Visitation will be on Tuesday, March 3, 2026, from 10:00 AM – 8:00
PM at the funeral home with a Rosary/Vigil Service at 6:00 PM.
