Maria Elena "Nena" Vallejo, 63, of Hereford, Texas, passed away on Tuesday, March 14, 2023, in Hereford. Mass of Christian Burial will be on Friday, March 17, 2023, at St. Anthony's Catholic Church at 10:00 A.M., with Father Grant Spinhirne officiating. Burial to follow at West Park Cemetery in Hereford under the direction of Mendez and Mullins Family Funeral Home. A Rosary will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, March 16, 2023, at 6:00 P.M.

Maria Elena "Nena" was born on March 11, 1960, in Mercedes, Texas, to Filiberto and Victoria (Diaz) Vallejo. Nena has been a resident of Hereford all her life. She was a homemaker and loved family gatherings and eating together as a family. She enjoyed picking up her sister, nieces, and nephews to go to the arcade and play games, Nena also loved to play Jacks, Duck Duck Goose, Tag, and Red Rover. Nena loved her family dearly, spending time with them and caring for her parents until their final days.

Those left to cherish her memories are her siblings, Filiberto Vallejo and his wife Juanita of Hereford, Texas, Francisco Vallejo, Sr. and his wife Rosa of Hereford, Texas, Lupe Vallejo and his wife Lydia of Hereford, Texas, Daniel Vallejo of La Villa, Texas, Ofelia Garcia of Hereford, Texas, Abraham Vallejo Sr. and his wife Elsa of Amarillo, Texas, and Annabelle Gonzalez of Amarillo, Texas, brother-in-law Fred Tijerina, Sr. of Hereford, Texas, and numerous nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Filiberto and Victoria Vallejo, brother Antonio Vallejo, sister Jana Tijerina, sister-in-law Josefita Vallejo, and brother-in-law Pancho Garcia.
