Maria De Jesus "Tutie" Leal, 36, a lifelong resident of Hereford, Texas passed away Friday, August 27, 2021, in Amarillo, Texas. Celebration of Life Service will be Wednesday, September 1, 2021, at 2:00 PM at the Hereford Church of the Nazarene with Pastor Ted Taylor. Burial to follow at West Park Cemetery. Arrangements and services have been entrusted to Mendez and Mullins Family Funeral Home of Hereford, Texas. Viewing will be Tuesday from 10:00 AM-8:00 PM at the funeral home.

Maria "Tutie" was born September 13, 1984, in Hereford, Texas to Erlindo Leal and Angelina Quiroz. Maria was a homemaker and a resident of Hereford all her life. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family, especially her daughter, granddaughter, and her favorite niece, Amariah. In her younger days she enjoyed going to the park with her niece, Jasmine. Maria's favorite time were holidays and Thanksgiving being her favorite, especially her dad's special dressing. Maria loved to dance, being happy, and making everyone around her laugh and be happy as well, she was one that had to have her beauty sleep and loved to have her makeup and nails done. She was a girly-girl and was very proud of her beautiful legs. In the last moments of her life her words to her dad are priceless, "Dad, words will never be enough to tell you how grateful I am to you for raising Sophia, she has become such a beautiful woman and my granddaughter the same, thank you from the bottom of my heart, I love you so much dad!"

Those left to cherish her memories are her daughter, Sophia Leal and her husband Jose Valles of Hereford, Texas, her granddaughter, Ava Marie Valles of Hereford, Texas, her father, Erlindo Leal and her mother Angelina Quiroz both of Hereford, Texas and the father to her daughter, Juan Gabriel Lopez of Mexico; her sister, Victoria Leal Hernandez and her husband Anthony of Amarillo, her nieces, Jasmine Torres and her husband Elijah of Hereford and Amariah Hernandez of Amarillo, Texas, her nephews, United States Marine Jacob Hernandez of Georgia and Alijah Hernandez of Amarillo, Texas; two great nieces, Jaelah and Eilah Torres of Hereford, Texas and one great nephew, Noah Torres of Hereford, Texas and a maternal grandfather, Felix Quiroz of Hereford, Texas.

Maria will be joining her three children, Sebastian Marque, Juan Gabriel, Jr. and Angel Lopez, her paternal grandparents, Jesus G. and Maria De Jesus Leal and her maternal grandmother, Eulalia Quiroz in heaven.
