Maria Guadalupe Garcia passed away on August 3, 2024, at the age of 89 years old surrounded by her loving family in Hereford. A Graveside Service will be held on Tuesday, August 6, 2024, at the St. Anthony's Catholic Cemetery at 10:00 A. M. with Father Grant Spinhirne and Deacon Jesse Guerrero officiating. A Family and Friend visitation will be held on Monday, August 5, 2024, from 4:00 – 8:00 P.M. with a Rosary beginning at 6:00 P.M. at the funeral home. The Garcia family has entrusted Funeral Services to Mendez and Mullins Family Funeral Home of Hereford.

Maria was born to her parents, Jose Dolores Gallegos and Maria (Canchola) Gallegos on June 15, 1935, in Mexico. Maria was a long-time Hereford resident. She came here to find employment opportunities and met Ramon T. Garcia and together they became one and created a beautiful family.

Maria was known for her remarkable work ethic, she was always outdoors tending to her garden and flower beds, pulling weeds, she was always outside working on something. Maria served the Lord with all she had; she had the strongest faith. She loved her family wholeheartedly and was their glue that kept everyone together.

She enjoyed her Word Search books and got quite good at it. Maria enjoyed listening to Elvis Presley and loved strawberry milkshakes from McDonalds and Beef enchiladas from La Fiesta Grande.

Those left to carry on her uplifting spirit are her loving children, Rosa Garcia, Rebecca Garcia all of Hereford, Texas, Relles Garcia, Sr., and his wife Sylvia, Rafael Garcia all of Amarillo, Texas, Rodolfo "Rudy" Garcia and his wife Amanda of Hereford, Texas; her siblings, Maria R. Segovia, Jose D. Gallegos, Jr., Margarita Moya, Maria Elena Valdez all of Amarillo, Texas, Ramon Gallegos and his wife Lila of Florida, Jose Luis Gallegos and his wife Rita, Roberto Gallegos, Sr., and his wife Olivia all of Hereford, Texas; 11 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren.

Those preceding her in passing are her husband, Ramon T. Garcia; her daughters, Marianna Garcia and Rosario Garcia; her siblings, Jesus Gallegos and Maria Luisa Tijerina.
